I think I can remember on past flights, the captain going through his welcome onboard message...then wishing those celebrating a happy birthday etc.

Do they still do this?
It's DH's birthday the day we fly to Orlando and I think it would be cool for him to get a message. With it being the day we fly and all of the airport hassle etc, I'm looking for little ways to wish him a happy birthday so it doesn't go by unoticed.

The senior cabin crew person did it for a couple that had got married when we flew home last year.

I'd mention it to the cabin crew and see if they can help out :D

Thanks Wendy....the tricky part is speaking to them without DH knowing!

Are you flying from Manchester or Gatwick this time

At Gatwick there is a desk and the staff are really helpful, you could make some excuse about going to ask them something for some info for here and leave him to one side and then ask them if they can pass on something to the crew.

We flew out one year close to our DS's birthday. Flew with VA and ordered him a gift that was presented to him during the flight. There were several birthdays/celebrations happening on the plane and they were announced - I guess it depends on the crew
