View Full Version : Disappointing News

As most of you know we had a new grandson born in October. Our son, his finacee, her son, their son, and his 3 kids were all planning on coming out to VA for Christmas. They were going to borrow our daughter's SUV to do it. However, now that his divorce his final his company (a major auto manufacturer) has dropped his ex from his health insurance and his divorce decree says that he has to pay for it for a year. :legal: That will cost him over $600/month :jawdrop: and on top of that since our DGD had the automobile accident her parents only have the SUV now so our son can't borrow that either. SOOOOO to make a long story short, no kids or grandkids for Christmas this year. :hissyfit::sad: We haven't seen our youngest granddaughter since just after she was born 3 years ago. Nor have we seen either of the other two in 3 years either.

:hug2: i'm sorry John. Would it be possible for them to rent a car?
Rental car is not the problem Johnie. Although to get one large enough for the 7 of them would cost about $100/day. The biggest problem is that $600+/month that he has to lay out for her medical insurance.

Could he appeal to the court on the terms of financial hardship? That is a crazy amount to expect someone to have to pay, especially in these times? Maybe he could at least look into it?

It won't do any good for Christmas travel, but in the long run if he can get that removed from the decree he would at least be able to live for the year. :(
