Shame Ruth went but I can't believe no-ones commented on Britney! What a flipping sham. Lip synching on a singing talent show is a poor show indeed. Why the hell was everyone so physched to see her? I used to love her now, she should be at home wondering where it all went wrong and when she decides to make a come back at least sing darn it!

Miley Cyrus put her to shame last night.

You would have thought that Britney Spears would have had sufficient talent without having to mime throughout her "spot".
It would also have been nice to have seen her giving advice and encouragement to the contestants singing her songs...apparently she never even watched the show from her dressing room!

mumof2
30-11-2008, 03:55 PM
i noticed when Dermot asked Britney what she thought of how the contestants were doing she said something along the line of "amazing, it's so great to be here, everybody's been so great blah, blah, blah" - i think she may have misunderstood what he'd asked her!

now don't get me wrong - she's had a tough time and good for her for making a comeback BUT live would have been good.

I think Britney had to mime because of that dance routine. No singer can sing that well and do a dance routine, and rather than have her dance well and sing badly or dance badly and sing well, they let her mime. From what I hear the people in the audience hear her live, but what we get through our telly is a pre-recorded version.

Gutted Ruth went, and I was really let down by Diana's 1st performance. This has been the worst week yet, IMO. Alexandra really was brilliant both times though.
Diana's second performance was brilliant too. I'm hoping Diana wins, but I'd be really really happy for Alexandra too, seeing as she never made it through to the live shows a few years ago and it'd be a kick in the teeth for Louis

I don't think it's a fix, it's not like the producers have a vested interest in any of them, the whole show would be pulled if it turned out to be a fix- way too much for them to risk IMO.

I do agree Ruth was AMAZING, I am sad that I won't see her on T.V next saturday, but in the long-run, I'm sure its a blessing in disguise (as it is for Laura Whyte) that she's gone. Her style isn't suited to a competition like the x-factor, she sounds AMAZING when she does rock ballads... perhaps she could stick to them and get a record-label else where. I think Alexandra, also, could do better without the competition.

Have to disagree mate. Saw Michael Jackson before he went all weird and he sang and danced for 2 solid hours and was awesome.

Britney was a total waste of space. She didn't even know that the contestants had been singing her songs. Mariah is as big as they get and she spent time with the contestants. Heard something on Radio 2 that Britney wouldn't even speak to Simon Cowell.

I think she mimed in case she forgot her words and fell over or something.:point:

Still gutted about Ruth.

Voting for Alexandra now and hoping someone duct tapes Diana's hand to her side.

sorry Josh but a professional should be able to. Anyway she should be concentrating on making herself better mentally so that she can have a part in her kids life, not relaunching her career in the UK. Sorry but that's how i feel

i have a feeling that they told Diana to keep her hands on the mike - she looked like she was doing it then forgot.

Someone as Talented as Michael could do it, obviously Britney isn't so talented :point: I just think it is very hard to dance AND sing well... shame that they picked dancing over singing though.... with her being a SINGER and all! :taunt: It might have also been down to time constraints with rehearsals too... she's only been in England for a little bit, and only arrived on set the morning of her performance

I have a feeling that they told Diana to keep her hands on the mike - she looked like she was doing it then forgot.
She's said that shes trying not to do it because it annoys her. Shes an ace singer and I reckon it might be her 'thing' that she does (Other singers have different 'things' that they do). Very annoying, but I really want her to win anyway

She's giving the exact same performance all over Europe to promote the single, I assume rehearsals wouldn't have been difficult to do for one song/performance.

You shouldn't believe all you read but I had read earlier in the day on Sat that she was making all sorts of demands and rules backstage at X-Factor and having heard her vague response to Dermots questions I believe the rumour, it was blatent she had no clue exactly where she was, other than in London, or what the show was, she only knew she had a 3-4min slot and then off to mime the same routine somewhere else.

She didn't even wish them good luck! She just said "I think everyone is fabulous and should just keep doing what they're doing" or something similar to that :slap:
