If only they'd do Wuthering Heights like that - I might read the wretched thing then. :D

Hey! Nuthin' wretched about Wuthering Heights!!!

HEATHCLIFF!!!!!! You got that right!!! Love Wuthering Heights, it is truly my favorite classic book. What isn't there to like about Heathcliff? Okay, so he's brooding and a little mean, but it's due to the immense pain he feels for losing Catherine. :smoochboy:

Sorry but I got about a quarter way through and threw it across the room. I tried and tried but just couldn't get into it. I was like that with Pride and Prejudice too but had to finish that as it was for college.

I'm trying to think of what classic of the Canon I tried to read and didn't finish. I know there has to be one (or more, even) but for the life of me I can't remember right now... clearly whatever it was it was forgettable!

Oh, I remember reading Johnny Tremain in jr. high and I HATED that. It was more the way the teacher ran the class though, than the reading. She dragged it out and made it so slow it was fiercely boring. Still had reading that slowly.

That's not necessarily a listing on the Canon though.

Huge difference between Bronte and Austen! (Heck, huge difference between Emily and Charlotte).
