please click to save one of the most widely loved clubs at WDW

To: Walt Disney World We, the undersigned, are officially petitioning Walt Disney World to consider keeping the Adventurers Club open after the closing of Pleasure Island in September 2008.

The Adventurers Club has no equal. It is a unique treasure at Walt Disney World and does not deserve to be lumped into the same category as the other "night clubs" on Pleasure Island. We humbly request that it be allowed to stay open, even if it needs to be moved, refurbished, updated, and/or more heavily advertised. A lot of people do not know what this club is all about, but those that do find it a highlight of their trip.

Please reconsider your decision to close it. This club is so eccentrically Disney, it would be just as missed as the original Country Bear Jamboree show was and the Journey Into the Imagination ride was when they were changed and/or closed. All good things don't have to come to an end. Thank you for your time.

Just read about this :/ "The party's over at Pleasure Island: Disney to shut down 6 nightclubs" http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/tourism/orl-disney2808jun28,0,2367595.story

"Walt Disney World is shutting down the six nightclubs at Pleasure Island to make its party district at Downtown Disney more family friendly.

BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax and three other clubs that have for years catered largely to young, single adults -- rather than to Disney's bread-and-butter family market -- will close after Sept. 27.

During the next couple of years, Disney will reopen the Pleasure Island venues with a broader mix of restaurants and shops.

Pleasure Island's change has been the subject of rumors for a while. Now 19 years old, it may have seemed an odd venture for Disney, but it appeared to thrive -- so much so that some in the industry have blamed it for accelerating the decline of the nightlife district in downtown Orlando during the 1990s."

I got this from a friend...here's hoping!

A very few of the clubs closing at Pleasure Island may be saved. There have been stories of the Adventurers club moving for the last 6 months. With the closing of Pleasure Island coming up this may be the case. The Adventurers club may wind up at , or near Animal Kingdom.

To be honest, I've never been either!

I know it's one of the most important things there for many people and many locals apparently also.

It's hard because I guess we haven't REALLY got the detail on what would replace them, could be something even better but AC does seem particularly close to a lot of peoples' hearts
