Okay, I stand up in my heels and admit that I have officially become addicted to shoes. Not just crocs, but shoes with awesome heels. Beauty is pain. It is a sickness and I know it. But I can't help but want these shoes:

I want the black ones though and they have 5 inch heels.

Foreverducky, I'll be right there child. Hang on. Clearly the winter storms have done some major damage... :bugeye:  :hug2:

(Wicked shoes, kiddo. I'd not even be able to stand in those, let alone walk)!

I know. It's likely due to cabin fever.

I not only want to walk in them but sashay. :D

Oh! My Grandmother was the BEST sashayer! :D :D My sister learned it from her, and can do it with the best of them. I think it does have something to do with the heels though, don't you? Probably why I can't do it. Even when young, heels and I did not do well together.

Ooh I would have snapped those ones up in my teens... but not now.

The trick to sashaying like a pro is to cut off a bit of one heel so that they are uneven. It worked for Marilyn Monroe!

I would be able to walk in those shoes for about 10 minutes before my feet were begging for mercy.

Ursula

10 minutes! I give mine just three!

How on earth do you women even walk in those things?

foreverducky
12-01-2009, 07:48 PM
It's totally has to do with the heels. Your hips just move a different way in heels.

Johnie, I did not know that about Marilyn Monroe and the heel. Interesting, but if I'm purchasing shoes worth this much, I ain't cutting nothing off. :D

They are gorgeous  If I even managed to squeeze my feet into them (a la the wicked stepsisters) I wouldn't make it into a standing position

10 minutes! I give mine just three!

The trick is in the training. :D

How on earth do you women even walk in those things?

Very very carefully!

How on earth do you women even walk in those things?

It is a skill that not all of us posess. I used to be able to walk in them for hours and hours. Not anymore.

Okay, I couldn't help myself. I pushed the purchase button, but decided on the color shown and not the black ones. They will look great with jeans. :D Of course, 5 inch heels are higher than anything that I have worn so far. My highest now are 4 inches.

Great job!! I'll need 5" heels to get my foot above all the snow in my driveway

Is that 5" including the platform Ducky??

foreverducky
12-01-2009, 08:53 PM
the platform is about an inch. :D

Johnie
12-01-2009, 08:55 PM
You are going to be half a foot taller!

Tinker
12-01-2009, 10:16 PM
Wow, I can no longer wear heels . I wore two inch heels to a to long wedding a few years back and my legs & feet were barking . I could barely walk the next day . LoVed the high platforms when I was young

Yes, I will go from 5'2 to 5'7. :D

My obsession for over 20 yrs were the stiletto heels. Had a nice collection of 3and1/2 and 4 inch ones....now way too much weight and a few other health problems and my feet won't even look at a pair lol

Tink
12-01-2009, 10:55 PM
Well then if having one leg shorter than the other is a sign of being able to sashay, then I do that every day! LOL. Minus the heels, of course. :D

Billie? Will you have to buy longer jeans then?

Johnie
12-01-2009, 11:01 PM

I'm 5'7", it's nice up here

foreverducky
12-01-2009, 11:06 PM
Nope, it means that jeans will not drag. :D

Tink
12-01-2009, 11:07 PM
Ah! That's good then. You'd have to roll them up to your knees otherwise. :D  (The ones used for the high shoes, I mean). :D

My Mother is 4'8" and used to wear platform shoes and other sorts of high heels. Has the varicose veins today to prove it. :(

Billie dear, you do realize that we're under blizzard warnings and 5" heels are NOT going to help in all that snow!!!

I so couldn't even stand up in those shoes, never mind walk in them :eek3:

My hips hurt just looking at those things...

foreverducky
13-01-2009, 12:27 AM
Oh yes, I am aware of the snow issue. And am worried about it. My first day of school is tomorrow. I hope it's not cancelled.

I plan on not wearing them until spring. :D

Ahhhhh! I want to indulge my shoe addiction!

Feet and left leg won't permit it, though. :sigh:

I'll have to live vicariously through you, FD. You'll have to share your shoe collection with us periodically!

Johnie
13-01-2009, 02:56 PM
Hey FD, I found these last night and thought of you

foreverducky
13-01-2009, 11:40 PM
 Johnie. I would.

I will definitely share them when I start wearing in spring. Until then I will just touch them and drool on them.

I top FD have just had a boot splurge. I have bought my divine uggs and also black patent boots. I have been longing for them since september. They were 65 but i just got them in the sale for 25. Unfortunately i haven't worn heels for a while and when l put tham on l remembered why. I am 5ft 8 and with these heels l feel and look like Gandolf.

So I am officially bummed. As you all know I bought these fabulous sandals in January and put them away until I could wear them (due to weather). So the other day I got them out and today I tried them out..........well, they are about 1/2 inch too big. :mental: How did this happen??? I never have this much trouble with shoes, usually I buy my 9.5 size and am well on my way. So, since I bought them in January, I can't return them or anything. :sigh: Yes, they were expensive, but I am more upset that I can't wear them.

So, now i have a lovely pair of shoes that I can't return or wear. :hissyfit:

PsychoAlice
22-03-2009, 06:55 PM
Ebay honey...geesh you should have at least tried them on!

foreverducky
22-03-2009, 06:58 PM
Yes, I know. But i never have this problem...guess there is a first time for everything. It's just so disappointing.

I'm not an ebayer...I will likely try to give them away. Any takers?? :D

PsychoAlice
22-03-2009, 07:00 PM
wondering how I am going to keep my feet in a 9.5......

foreverducky
22-03-2009, 07:03 PM
Well you see, they say 9.5 but they have to be really a 10. They are huge. I would have had to wear 3 pairs of socks. Also, I do think I almost reached the clouds in those puppies...the air is thin way up there. :D

PsychoAlice
22-03-2009, 07:14 PM
LMAO Billie I wear a 6.5...my tinkerbell feet as my mother calls them..

foreverducky
22-03-2009, 07:36 PM
 So with my calculations...carry the 1, add the 3, minus the .5....you will need at least 6 pairs of socks. ;)

PsychoAlice
22-03-2009, 07:38 PM
oye...Im thinkin not...

Kate
23-03-2009, 01:35 PM
They are lovely FD - i cant buy them though, im a girl that after photos were done on her wedding day put her trainers on under her dress (and my shoes were only a maximum of 2in!!)

p.s. when did you move to illinois, you had just moved to tampa last time i spoke to you!

foreverducky
23-03-2009, 01:55 PM
:D Kate, yes, I'm a movin' girl, aren't I? :) I moved to IL in August of 2008. All this movin' is due to school. I hope to eventually settle in the Northeast of the US.

I sent the store an email explaining the situation and am hoping maybe they will work with me. I would love an exchange, but who knows.

Kate
23-03-2009, 02:14 PM
I dont think an exchange would be out of the question as long as they are still the same price, its not like you want your money back or anything is it!

Do you still have Arthur? (he is called Arthur isnt he?!)

foreverducky
23-03-2009, 02:16 PM
That's what I was thinking. I literally put them on and then took them off.

Yep, still have Arthur. He's doing well (other than dealing with some dry, flaky skin). I think he really likes it here. We actually go outside. We were indoors people while living in FL.

Ducky, I bought a pair of those Super High Heeled shoes for our trip to Vegas. Took them home, wore them for 20 minutes and decided they so weren't for me. I went back a got a pair of lower heeled ones that look like dancers shoes. Love love love them.
I really wish I could have worn the higher ones, but I'm too old I guess.
Oh and I like the ones you got!

foreverducky
24-03-2009, 08:09 AM
I like them too...if only they'd fit.

I got an email from the store and they said to attempt to send them, but any refund/exchange/store credit would be up to the manager. So basically...send them and just basically hope you get something.

Johnie
27-03-2009, 10:35 PM
well I wear a 10 but I'd kill myself in those shoes.

foreverducky
28-03-2009, 01:18 AM
Ahhh, so close...are you sure, I could get them to you lickety-split. :D
