But there are other great character meals in that general area. Crystal Palace is good and it's in the MK and then there is my favorite which is Chef Mickey's (it's located in the Comtemporary Resort, right off the monorail).

Cosmic Ray's is a good quick place, but my favorite quick place to eat is Casey's. After Casey's an ice cream across main street is a good treat. :D

And don't give up on the castle. :D

Don't forget Tony's Town Square!

For the "Lady and the Tramp" lover in you. My wife and I usually try to arrange dinner there to coincide with the nighttime parade and ask for seating on the outside porch. Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't. But when we do, it's a great place to watch the parade from after dinner.

Crystal Palace breakfast is very good. We always eat at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's.

I like Crystal Palace for dinner--not much of a breakfast person.

Liberty Tree Tavern is another option for dinner. It's no longer a character meal. Dinner is served family style (platters/bowls on table). I think lunch has a different menu. I don't believe it's open for breakfast, but I could be wrong. WDW has been changing the dining options a lot lately!

I also like Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square for quick service.

If you don't like characters I agree LIberty Tree has some really good food & they just recently did away with characters. But the buffet at Crystal Palace is sooo good. Yeah, you'll have to put up with the Pooh characters but it's totally worth it even if you don't like them!

We love Crystal Palace, it's a buffet restaurant so there's always a good choice. If you don't want to be bothered by the characters you can always wave them by your table and they won't disturb you. As the others have said Liberty Tree Tavern is another good option but the food is served family style which means it comes out on platters all at the same time which might not suit.

If your looking for somewhere nice for lunch, we like the Plaza Restaurant which is at the top of Main Street. It does mainly sandwiches and burgers with some nice deserts.

Ooh yes, I forgot the Plaza, not sure how as we eat there every visit. It's so cute....so quaint! Love it so much.

Main Street Bakery for breakfast or The Columbia House serves nice sandwiches . Dinner I would go with either Tony's or Liberty Tree Tavern .

:hug2: Oooooh! Oooooh! S'okay, MystikPiglit! :hug1: Big Thunder didn't mean that the characters from Pooh were not likeable! :bugeye: No, no, no, no! She just misspoke a bit, that's it. Just a little bit of typo going on there. :hug2:

Oh please don't think i was saying I don't like them!! I have very fond memories of the Pooh characters at The Crystal Palace on our second visit & we've visited many times since just to see Piglet. My oldest was Piglet obsessed for the longest time & even at 15 year old she still collects Piglet pins & plushes. :)
But i think the original poster said something about not really wanting characters.

You are quite correct.

We've had some delicious lunches at the Plaza, but it gets very busy so it's best to book.
