We did it a few years back and really enjoyed it. The food is buffet and there is so much choice - unlimited Bud was also available. The dining area is behind the main theatre. During the meal there is a talk by one of the trainers and Shamu and friends swim upto the barriers where you are seated with good photo opportunities.

We've done this twice and it was a great way to see the Shamu family up close. There are dining tables set up around a pool behind the Shamu Stadium and the food is a buffet and usually good quality. There's a whale swimming around and a trainer gives you a talk which interesting. There are some jumps out of the water and some close ups and at the end a trainer is on hand to answer any of your questions.

We enjoyed as well  Big tip though is to book as early as possible because seating is allocated on a 'first booked better seating' policy. The earlier you book the more likely you are to have seating next to the pool although that said there are only a couple of rows so it's not a major problem.

We did it in 2006 and the kids loved it. Buffet was good but to see the whales that close is amazing.

How far in advance can you book this? Is it 90 days like ADR?

I have just booked for August.
I think it just depends when they release dates and update their site.
Might be worth a look now.
