My default tone is "When You Wish Upon A Star". When John calls it plays the USC Fight Song. It plays "Crazy" (Patsy Cline) when Mom calls.

When someone sends me a text message it plays Mickey telling me to pick up. It might be important!

Mine is *You Can Fly* .

Hmmm, I like the worded ones for text messages. How did you folks find those options?

Let's see I have Candyman and Fall For You on mine. I did have the country song Johnny and June for a while.

I got mine through Verizon. I have a Mickey that tells you to have a "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" that I use in Dec.

I have a prepaid phone that can't download ring tones, so I'm limited to what is already on the phone.

I think I currently have a passage from Peer Gynt. I primarily use the phone for outgoing calls.

Tink

Right now I have, Proud for general incoming calls. I have specialty tones for others. "Kiss the Girl" for Herself :spring:
The Theme from Star Wars for Seth and his Da (serious Star War buffs!)...

The Hallelluia Chorus for Mama :D

Notice that I have email is a soft sound that sounds like Tink sprinkling pixie dust.

Text message is a wicked funny little thing that goes something like, "Helllloooooo oooohhhhh...wing wing, I calling you. You busy? Pick up. I wanna talk..." and on and on! Cracks people up.

For my Communities I have different tones depending upon the state they are in. My Director I have the "Flight of the Bumblebee." :D My two counter parts have their own tones...

Regionals have their own tones...

You get the general idea. :D :D

I currently am rockin' 'Do You Realize' by The Flaming Lips as my ringtone & I also own 'Spongebob & Patrick Confront the Psychic Wall of Energy' by Flaming Lips & 'Loser' by Beck. I don't generally buy too many ringtones. Need to figure out a way to get my own tunes on there & use them but, alas, i don't know how.

and a bucket...for the chum Id like to throw on him...

One day up near Orlando,I let him slip away,
He's looking for that home and I hope he finds it,
But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday
To be holding Bobby's body next to mine.

yep pretty much

See? I know we're talking lightly, and about songs here, but I've always hated that line from Bobbie McGee.

Trading all tomorrows for a single yesterday sounds way too wrong to me. :sorry:

Oh it is a completely wrong way to feel but sometimes when you are caught up in a hard time & feeling heartbroken or regretful or extremely sad you can find yourself feeling like that. Luckily....it passes.

Johnie
26-01-2009, 02:26 AM
Oh gosh my absolute favorite song is the saddest thing ever. I don't feel like that often but I have been there.......

WHAT THAT WOMAN BEEN DOING' TO ME
CAN'T YOU SEE OH CAN'T YOU SEE

I'M GOING TO CRAWL INSIDE AND DIE

COME A LADY NOW
A MEAN OLD WOMAN LORD
NEVER TOLD ME GOOD BYE

and this is one of my favorites to sing in the car (or anywhere actually)

I seem to like heartbreak songs

Please baby cant you see
My minds a burnin hell
I got razors a rippin and tearin and strippin
My heart apart as well
Tonight you told me
That you ache for something new
And some other woman is lookin like something
That might be good for you

Go on and hold her till the screaming is gone
Go on believe her when she tells you
Nothings wrong
But Im the only one
Wholl walk across the fire for you
Im the only one
Wholl drown in my desire for you
Its only fear that makes you run
The demons that youre hiding from
When all your promises are gone
Im the only one

Please baby cant you see
Im trying to explain
Ive been here before and Im locking the door
And Im not going back again
Her eyes and arms and skin wont make
It go away
Youll wake up tomorrow and wrestle the sorrow
That holds you down today

Go on and hold her till the screaming is gone
Go on believe her when she tells you
Nothings wrong
But Im the only one
Wholl walk across the fire for you
Im the only one
Wholl drown in my desire for you
Its only fear that makes you run
The demons that youre hiding from
When all your promises are gone
Im the only one

My husband LOVES Melissa Etheridge. This fact has nothing to do with the thread or the derailing it took on sad songs but I just thought I'd state it because I'm not sure there are a lot of Melissa lovin' male fans out there.

I think Last Kiss is extemely sad. Little known trivia, it's been a hit in every decade since it's been released, way back when.

Oh, I also cry everytime I hear this song from John Michael Montgomery.

My Dear Son, it is almost June,
I hope this letter catches up to you, and finds you well.
Its been dry but they're calling for rain,
And everything's the same ol' same in Johnsonville.
Your stubborn 'ol Daddy ain't said too much,
But I'm sure you know he sends his love,
And she goes on,
In a letter from home.

I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, and they all laugh,
Like there's something funny bout' the way I talk,
When I say: "Mama sends her best y'all."
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work.
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home.

My Dearest Love, its almost dawn.
I've been lying here all night long wondering where you might be.
I saw your Mama and I showed her the ring.
Man on the television said something so I couldn't sleep.
But I'll be all right, I'm just missing you.
An' this is me kissing you:
XX's and OO's,
In a letter from home.

I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, and they all laugh,
'Cause she calls me "Honey", but they take it hard,
'Cause I don't read the good parts.
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work.
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home.

Dear Son, I know I ain't written,
But sittin' here tonight, alone in the kitchen, it occurs to me,
I might not have said, so I'll say it now:
Son, you make me proud.

I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, but no one laughs,
'Cause there ain't nothing funny when a soldier cries.
An' I just wipe me eyes.
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work.
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home.

Yeah I don't care for his voice. I'm not a fan of high pitched voices....esp men. I also like really throaty female singers.

BigThunder
27-01-2009, 12:40 AM
I prefer more manly voices but I don't mind a falsetto at all. I like someone like Dave Matthews who can do both.
I don't like rough or throaty female voices but I also cannot stand the kittenish, trying to be sexy female voices either. Seems too fake.

Johnie
27-01-2009, 01:56 AM
Ugh can't stand Dave Matthews either. I think that's because I have been exposed to them FOREVER. They are from here....

Tink
27-01-2009, 02:05 AM
Like Jewel? I can't stand that woman's voice!!!

I don't mind falsetto for the most part. It wasnt' his voice so much as the slowness of the song. There was no sensuality to it. I just wanted him to sing it already and be done! :sorry:

I like throaty, rugged voices for popular music, for the most part. Melissa, Rod, that sort of thing. :D Love David Bowie's voice. That man could sing the phone book and I'd listen. :D

foreverducky
27-01-2009, 02:29 AM
I like it when men sound like men and women, well sound like women. And I don't like whiny voices.

Tink
27-01-2009, 02:32 AM
Ugh! Like Bob Dylan? I can't stand that man's voice! And Neil Young. He's another one... nope, nope, nope! :(

Johnie
27-01-2009, 02:39 AM
Don't like either of them either. You can't even understand Bob.

Alysia and I were discussing wonderful male singers the other day and we both agreed that Roy Orbison was FABULOUS. His voice is a bit higher than I typically like but I do love Roy. Thanks to my dad
