why does it take less time on the flight back?

Ive always wanted to ask this but havent in case its really stupid :lol: :point:how come it takes less time on the flight back to the UK than going out? does it go a different way?

It`s mainly due the the fact that invariably there is a strong tail wind on the return journey as most of the weather patterns flow West-East.
This can significantly effect the flight times.

No. When you think about it, a flight time is a flight time of a certain duration in hours and minutes irrespective of the time zones.

I wouldn`t worry too much about it. It always used to confuse me on my early business trips when I kept on checking with our travel agent that he hadn`t got his times messed up!

The Earth must be tilting more and more.
In my teens it was a 12 hour drive from our house to Cornwall, yet nowadays I can do the same journey in only around 4 hours! :lol:

My dad used to drive through the night from Surrey to Dorset on our camping holidays it took so long!

It takes us about 1 hour to Ringwood and 6 hours from there to Bournemouth - 5 miles up the road :lol:

Back on topic! I hate the thought that windsa can make a difference to flight times - I like to think the pilot has more control of the plane than that! :eek3::lol:
