(Possibly the wierdest thread title ever!)

Well, I'm going to the Dr's soon to go and get it 'operated' on. I say it in inverted comma's because they call it an operation, but it's not like I'm going to be knocked out or anything!

Wish me luck!

good luck Josh - let me know how it went.

After refusing the surgery on his Jays toe has taken over a year to mend but at the moment it's so much better - I'm waiting fot the next episode though, he may just have to accept he needs his done too, so knowing how you get on may help him.

Hope it all goes well.

Back! :D

Had the whole toe nail off, was pretty much painless tbh. The injections hurt a little but no more than a regular one, once they'd done that (plus a restrictive/elasticy band) I couldn't feel a thing! I watched the whole thing- It calms me to watch it, rather than not know what's happening! Was totally wierd.

mumof2, I'd tell jay it's worth getting it done. It's pretty much painless, and takes the pressure off it totally

DH had to have salt water foot soak every other day and change the dressing then. He was one of the unlucky ones who did get an infection in it :( So it has taken longer than usual to heal but now it has healed finally. It doesn't look too bad now but during the healing process it was gross. You won't be able to wear a shoe for a good while and bedclothes will have to stay off it.
