I had a morphine *watch* attached to my wrist... you press the *watch* when you feel like you need a shot... I pressed mine all day long :D You can't overdose as it's controlled somehow by a timer I think??? I just know you can be happy and smiley for hours!

Britchick

Ooooooo! Don't rush! Don't rush! Moving around is great. Best to get the body moving gently, of course but do be careful our Teresa! It's good that you've not had any morphine. Less for your body (and mind! :D ) to deal with.

I am totally awed by that of course. :D

Glad you're doing well, Teresa! Watch those sweets wrappers--dead giveaway!

Relax and enjoy not having nurses hovering over you all day. That means you're improving and don't need constant attention. You'll soon be home and wishing for a little peace and quiet! :)

My mother always used to say her time in hospital was to catch up on sleep! Tended to annoy her roommates to no end, as she usually ended up with the chatty ones! :)

LOL Tink you have never had any sort of surgery in your tummy area have you?

After 2 c-sections and an appendix surgery..believe me you do not want to cough...even if they make you...heck you dont even want to breath deep...

A group of us got fed up and went walkies to the tuck shop in our nighties and surgical stockings... what a right sight it was but we couldn't care less! We'd got cabin fever real bad.

You are. They need to make sure you don't get pneumonia. It hurts like the devil to cough after surgery though.

they used to teach you how to cough properly before the operation............don't know if they do that now:unsure:

Johnie

I don't think they teach you that now. At least I don't have any recollection of it.

Ursula

The last op I had last year they tell you to remember to cough. I had a nurse every now and then asked me if I'd done my coughing exercises.
