View Full Version : Oooh I hope Keith's around
OK new camera. Pictures on it that you all need to see. Find box, extract manual, CD-rom, USB cable.
Insert CD - follow all instructions to the "Installation now complete" bit. Restart computer. Nice icon on desktop. Connect camera, switch on and wait for lovely pictures to pop up.
I/O error, process aborted.
What does that mean? Answers before I get back from the school run please.

Well it means you've only gawn and broke it (stop me if I get too technical  )
What kind of camera is it again? Their website may have some updated software which you know, works ;) I dont use the cables to attach mine, I always use a little card reader
It's a Fuji.
Should I uninstall the software and reinstall it?

definitely worth a try but have a look at www.fujifilm.com first to see if there's any updated software!

While we're on the subject of cameras...
This one takes XD and SD cards - we're using an SD we had lying around for practise. What's the preferred card of these two?

No real difference in how good they are, XD tend to be more expensive. No problem using SD as far as I'm concerned
OK Adrian comes in and I say that I've wasted 3 hours playing with the computer today and it won't let me look at photos from the camera.
Adrian: "why didn't you use the card reader?"
Me: "we haven't got an SD card reader."
Adrian: "yes we do, it's upstairs"
Me: :angry-smiley-053::angry-smiley-053::angry-smiley-053:
Pictures shortly...

I'm good at cameras....just whap it on the desk a few times and see if any spare parts fall out. If they do then that's why it doesn't work

Simple solution:
Step 1.) Throw OS in bin
Step 2.) Locate your nearest apple store
Step 3.) Buy a Mac
Step 4.) Connect camera, pictures are popped up!

to be honest, even with the huge cameras, thats what we do a lot of the time too ;)
I just point and press too. And if I twiddle the button next to the pressing bit then the picture gets bigger or smaller depending on what way I twiddle.
That's as good as I get.
