The Thorn Birds is one of my favs and i have it on DVD. I love it and cry every single time!!! The lead female and the man that played her husband actually got married in real life.
The Father just wanted to have his cake and eat it too! By the end I am a blubbering idiot.

Barbara Stanwick was incredible as the older rich woman who was also in love with him. :) She saw it all, every bit of it. Yes the music is so good, completely sets the mood.

In the early 90's I watched the Dark Shadows mini series. It was great, but ended so poorly. Was enthralled by Ben Cross.

It's all about the romance in my eyes. I am a cynic who is deep down a hopeless romantic.

It was a Judith Krantz novel:

From wikipedia

Princess Daisy tells the story of a young girl who is sent to England to live with her father, Prince Valenski, after her mother's death in a car crash. Unfortunately, Daisy is immediately separated from her twin sister Dani, who is a retarded child not accepted by their father. When Daisy turns 16, their father dies in a plane accident. The girl is forced to take care of her life herself, especially when her half-brother starts seeing in her more than just a sister.

I remember Rupert Everett was the horrible half brother - I have always disliked him because of it

Hmmmm...

I remember seeing "North & South", but don't remember too much about it--don't even remember if I liked it!

As usual, I preferred the book "The Thorn Birds" to the mini-series, but thought the mini-series was very well done.

I'm sure I've watched--or watched at, as my family tends to tell me--other mini-series, but don't remember what they were! I'm more of a reader than a watcher!

Oh--another one I liked was "Centennial." Again, I preferred the book to the mini-series, but the mini-series was very well done--and very long!

Oh yes....V. That was a great mini series...at least I think it was mini series too. Loved that guy who played the Beastmaster. And then of course, the guy who played Freddy Krueger is in there too. :D Well Done!

I don't do well watching things that come on more than one night.....I always seem to forget.

I thought I'd do some light reading one summer so I got North and South. Guess who found out that this was a trilogy? A HUGE trilogy. It was very good but not light at all!
