I know you can't bring back their delicious steaks from WalMarts :( I declared mine and it got binned. Otherwise everything else I brought back was ok and I had fruit and vegetables.. dunno if they are allowed or if they just got through?

Got this from HM Customs

If you are travelling from a country outside the
EU, you cannot bring any meat or dairy products
into the UK, unless you are travelling from the
Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein
or Switzerland, when you are allowed a combined
weight of up to 5kg per person.
You may be allowed to bring in a small quantity
of other animal products, such as fish, but this
depends on the product and where you are
travelling from.

Steak from Walmart!

Helly, the next time you are here you must visit Fresh Market. THOSE are steaks.

I brought cheese back from Ireland. Not sure if I was supposed to but I declared it and no one stopped me. 'Course the customs agent never even looked at my card. If I'd have known it would be that easy I would have brought home some black pudding! (Hush now, Siobhan! S'tasty stuff)!

Seriously? Wow. Do go to Fresh Market though, Helly. It's not far at all from DTD and they have a proper butcher case there. You will be awed! :D :D Whole Foods has a nice selection too, but they are breathtakingly expensive.

They do make rather nice mistakes there though. :D We asked for a (on sale at the time) rack of lamb, and the young man behind the counter happily selected, weighed, wrapped and put the price tag on our selection. We tossed in the cart and went on our way.

It wasn't until we got home when Herself was unpacking and she said, "Chicken?" The label on the meat packet said chicken legs. I thought he'd given us the wrong packet and was not pleased. We don't eat chicken legs. :( We unrapped it to find the lamb, at chicken prices! The store said it was their error so enjoy. We did. :D

I brought back 2 cans of MTN dew and a few bags of sweets from New York and it was fine. Our drama teacher had some cheese in her hand-luggage (Cheese-string type thingys) and they threw them away!!!!! They where for snacks on the plane!
