I absolutely love Monster's Inc. I think the line formation is not bad at all and the waiting does not seem to to take long at all. However, I do not like the second waiting area, as I do start to feel like a sardine. We go from waiting in a back and forth line to being placed in a holding area that is a free for all.

That being said, we are definitely entertained by Mike W. on the screens in the room. Then once allowed in room we are allowed to sit anywhere, but are told to move down, which is definitly needed as it seems it's always packed.

Let the show begin. The room has two big screens that bring peoples faces up and then are inserted with a funny caption. This is so funny. The show is interactive with the audience, but is so much fun. There are monster comics that do their routines while interacting with the audience, the host of the show is Mike W, who does his best not to put his foot in his mouth.

Yes, I know there are folks out there that don't like to be picked on, so this may be a nerve-racking show. I seem to have noticed that those who are asked to talk are near the edges of the seat towards the somewhat center of the seating area. Now this could just be my observation. Once the show is over, we all exit left. :D

I love this show and usually do it more than once, as it seems to always be somewhat different due to different guests. It's now a personal favorite and must do.

Hope this wasn't too detailed. :D

So is it actual characters on stage like the old Playhouse Disney show or is it more of a movie presentation style thing?

Definitely 'screen' based, but in a weird way, since it's so interactive it seems like they are really there. :D

Its an interactive animated show like Crush.

Brilliantly executed IMHO, I had very low expectations for some reason but my 2 kids 8 and 6 thought it was hilarious!!

We initially got to see this during a sneak preview. We fell in love with it. It is a great interactive show, though I haven't quite figured out where we have to sit to be on screen.

Pretty sure its all over that their cameras can reach, all done in good fun though

I'd wear Mickey ears I think thats a good way to do it ;)

That's the only drawback for me. I so don't do participation in things like that, and find myself nearly cringing in my seat hoping to avoid the panning camera! So far I've been quite successful. :D

We love the show. Our Seth (now 5!) laughs and laughs and laughs. It's worth the price of admission to have that much joy and laughter surround you.

It's a simple show in some ways, but quite sophisticated in others. It's a good mix of true Disney; something for children and something for adults without crossing the boundaries of "good taste" (a highly subjective concept, granted).

We recommend it for everyone! :D

I absolutely abhor things like audience participation but for some reason I wouldn't mid this at all , probably because its cartoon monsters doing this and not real people - you are in Disney and its a laugh

It surely is a laugh!!! The audience participation isn't mean spirited either, so that helps. (I'm still not going to stop making myself as small as possible to avoid the cameras though! ).

Anyone who has ever been selected from the audience seems to have had a good time with it.

I got picked one day to interact. I was wearing a Jack Sparrow shirt and the monster said that Jack was staring at him. Then it went from there. :)

06-04-2009, 12:06 PM
 That must have been fun to see! (See I said now, not BE! ).

06-04-2009, 12:20 PM
The funny thing is, is that Jack DID look like he was staring. :D

06-04-2009, 12:36 PM
 That's the best part, the very real time interaction. Like Crush, you can completely believe for even if just a few moments, that the monster (or Crush) is real.

I know our Seth does!

That's the reason I totally love this show. It is one of my favorites!

Well, unlike my mate Skywatcher, I absolutely love being picked on, or actaully trying to embarass my wife and daughter! Normally I volunteer for every interaction opportunity. Last time at the Laugh Floor I was the total butt of every joke. I was "That Guy from the Laugh Floor" Ross said things could be worse..you could look like...again that guy. It was all in fun and I did get the cool sticker to wear for the rest of the day!:wiggle:

06-04-2009, 02:52 PM
Is there any way to do this and guarantee not to be picked on. It's the only way I'll get Adrian in there otherwise. :sigh:

06-04-2009, 02:54 PM
1. Don't tell him what its about

2. Wear a plain shirt and sit at the back

3. Dont put Steven on your lap

Definitely sit further left in the theater. And don't sit on an edge seat.

would this entertain a 19 month old?

06-04-2009, 07:51 PM
I do believe it would Mari. Will she understand English, though? It is a hearing based entertainment. But the visuals are nice too. If she recognizes Monsters Inc characters she would be good to go!

06-04-2009, 07:55 PM
It's very colorful in there. :D

06-04-2009, 08:18 PM

She is going to be one smart little girlie! She'll be fine then.
