I know theres that new online thing we have to do instead of forms on the plane but does it have to be updated for every trip do you know?

Yes. You can fill out the form online and be accepted at any time as the acceptance lasts 2 years. Before each holiday you should go back to the site and input your new flight details and first night address, plus, of course any information that might have changed.
