OK so we've successfully hunted the dragon. It's a sunny day and we're near Arundel so it must be time for a trip to the bird place again.

Except this time of year the place has a massive awwwwwww factor. It's duckling time!

Got there just in time for the boy to feed lettuce to some Aylesbury ducklings.

We then shared a boat tour with 2 adults and 7 of the most badly behaved children I've ever met. And to prove it's not a class thing - these were what we'd call upper class children. Jeez they were horrendous. I felt sorry for the poor boat guide so kept him occupied with questions about duckling mortality rates and where the heck are the kingfishers.

Mad moment.

And one last awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

That's your lot for this week. Tomorrow I need to clean stuff and then I'm at work over Easter. But the boy's birthday is Sunday and I suspect there may be a camera present. :D

We loved this place last weekend - the Blue billed ducks were great they have no neck

we call ducklings 'peep peeps' and there were loads there then - they were still bulding the play area - looks cool

I absolutely loved the wetlands walk :D

Well you know me and Steven love it there. One day I'll go alone and take the 'noculars and have a proper look out of the hides. There were some buzzards circuling high up too. The boat guide man said it's part of the mating dance they do.

They are all her babies. Mr boat guide man told me that mallards lay around 16 eggs and if 3 make it to adulthood it's been a successful year. :sigh:

Awwwwwww! The ducklings are so cute!

I'm going to have to drive over to McCormick Ranch to see if they still have the ducks there. A major street runs through the area--complete with duck crossing signs. The ducks have the right of way! :D
