there's an influenza epidemic in our city :sorry: , at the moment over 200 cases have been reported and ,more than 60 deaths..... and the president decided that it was better to take drastic meausres, so, no classes today!

We are Tink....

Its scary because no one really knows whats going on, apparently if some sort of mutated virus from pigs... so vaccines dont work against...

of course... in a population of over 8million 60 deaths isnt so many... its sad, but it sint so many, still, you can feel the fear, the streets are empty, all schools are closed, all kids are at home...

shame really, its a lovely day, around 85 degrees, lots of sunshine, and great WEEKEND weather....

oh dear, this is getting serious - please take care everyone who may be at risk

Mari, do let us know you're all still ok. :hug2:

Thanks for caring :hug2: about us

So far so good :)

WE have only left the house to go to my parents who live 2 blocks away... and... as stupid as it may seem, we have gone by car...

its scary.... EVERYTHING is either closed or empty, the streets are empty.. its like a GHOST town

the few people on the street are wearing masks

and well.. people are panic shopping..... most supermarkets have empty shelves because yesterday and today the people who ventured out bought enough food to last an army for over a month... crazy!

All public gatherings, including concerts, cinemas, and even mass have been cancelled until further notice...

the funny thing is.. we still have to work...

so... most moms are stuck between a rock and a hard place (is that the correct form to say that?) schools and daycare center are closed until may 6th, you HAVE to go to work, but you CANT take your children with you.... so.. where do you live them??? stupid if you ask me.,... they should have said mothers and/or fathers CAN stay home with their kids this week...
