anyone watching it?

The dance group Flawless were fantastic, and the lady that said she'd want to be like Elaine Paige had a fabulous voice, she really surprised them!

The 'union jacks' lady made me sick!!!

Susan boyle... WOW! It is so funny though because a lady called Susan Boyle bred two of my tortoises, I was in stitches when I saw her and then gob smacked when she sang!!

We loved it!

There were some fantastic acts tonight.

Waiting to spot DD as she auditioned in Cardiff but no heats from there tonight.

cool DB, what's her dance troupe called? I'll look out for them - i gather that's who she auditioned with?

Josh, I can't believe she went through.....were those union jacks attached or was she covered up in the editing? i couldn't figure it out.

Dizneyblonde

Robyn was with her troupe called I.C.ME but they won't be shown unless it's in a crowd scene. They should be easy to spot though as they were in red hoodies and grey trackies.

I absolutely LOVED Stavros Flatley... was in stitches watching them. The union jacks were edited on... I had a picture in the newspaper of what she had on underneath the union jacks... she had heart shaped tassells in red glitter and one actually fell off.. you can see it on the floor at some point and Dec ran on and gave her back her hat and she put it on her head, he gave her the hat to back intending for her to cover her boob.

Now now Josh, you're not being fattist are you?:nono:

mumof2
12-04-2009, 07:03 PM
oh yeah, the father and son act - soooo funny!

well it puzzles me even more now then that they actually put her through. Thin or fat, i don't think that's the sort of act that's appropriate

lisaw

What you see on the telly isn't the first auditions either - they have already auditioned in front of producers so what you see is actually the second round even thought they don't show it like that.

Flawless are amazing!

I've seen a youtube video of the older woman (with those amazing eyebrows). She was incredible for not only her voice, but her wake up call to all those who were looking at her with derision before she started to sing.

I don't know how your show works (heck, I don't know how the one here works as I don't watch it) but I hope she goes far!

 Tink, I love that I can come on the boards and broaden my vocab. I had to look up "derision."

Oh my goodness, I kept seeing news stuff regarding S. Boyle, so of course I had to check it out. Peer pressure you know. I was blown away and Simon's face was priceless. :D I hope she goes far.

There was a young boy too, I'm sorry I don't remember his name. He spoke of being bullied for the music he liked and the way he sang and the songs he chose to sing.

It was shaking like a leaf and terrified, but when he opened his mouth the most incredibly beautiful voice began to sing Piu Jesu. I am not exaggerating when I said he moved me to tears.

The three judges were stunned, and all commented on the bullies and his beautiful voice. Hopefully, he too will go a long way.

I think it's a little funny that I don't give a hoot about the American Idol show, but seem to be captivated by Britain's Got Talent! Perhaps the the genuine nature of the people/contestants I've seen? I know AI has a different focus, and that may be what turns me off, I don't know.

I wish it were something I could watch more of! (Britain's Got Talent, I mean).

That was Andrew Johnston.

Between Paul Potts, Andrew Johnston, Susan Boyle, and I'm sure many others, I'd have to say, yes, Britain's Got Talent!

No Josh, I hadn't seen that act either.

It broke my heart for one silly reason. Where is Gianni Versace? He would have dressed them to perfection. That was the sole drawback. I found their costumes little short of hideous. :sorry: Their talent? Well, their name said it all!

Tink there was this sullen rude girl who couldn't sing, with two others. To be honest I think she knew she couldn't sing and just wanted to get on stage to make a name for herself by being as rude as she could to Simon. Except it backfired and made her look like a real brat. I think Simon was right when he got their name wrong... She said they were called The Souls and he said they were called what? The Trolls? As it turned out she was a troll lol.

Tink
19-04-2009, 11:57 AM
Ah. That's what I thought, that you were all talking about yet another act and not one that was already mentioned in this thread.

Thanks Brit!!! :hug2: Yep. The green sweater girl is a right brat. A wrong brat too. Too bad her only claim to fame is being a smart mouth with no sense.

The little boy though, he was great! Decent of Simon to stop him and let him choose another song.

I'm getting the impression that Simon is a tough judge.

Who is the woman judge in the middle with the long gold hair? I'm guessing I should know her, but I don't. :spring:

yes Simon is tough but life is tough and so is the business they all want to be in, i like him because he says it how it is- he is never nasty just honest. I think he's quite hot too:sorry:

Tink
19-04-2009, 02:36 PM

Amanda Holden's family live where we do and her Dad works on the ferry.

She used to live here too.

The last thing i remember her being in is Wild at Heart.

Tink
19-04-2009, 06:34 PM
Is that who she is? Amanda Holden? Not that I know any more now, but didn't know her name.

That makes sense then about Simon, being a manager and all. He'd know talent then, eh?

And the Piers person? He seems quite dignified. Is he an actor, too?

Sorry to be so stupid about everyone but I don't often get a chance to watch mainstream television (and when I do it's not things like this). :sorry:

That Piers person is a tabloid newspaper editor.

and some words i'm not allowed to say here

he published staged photos of british soldiers abusing Iraqi soldiers without checking their source, because of the outcry by the Iraqi people (understandable I guess) it put the lives of our soldiers more at risk than they already were.

That gobby girl needs to get a grip! She really did think they could sing. I felt as though the other two had been almost forced to do it! Simon was brilliant to just bite his tounge.. If I was Amanda when it was my turn to say no I would have said "BITE ME!"

That must have been a terrible disappointment to them. I hope the US will get to see Diversity perform live some day. The only way most of us see the acts from Great Britain is via YouTube.
