Rumours abound across the Internet!
First it was rumoured that the AMC theatre group next door would like to extend and add IMAX theatres but this now seems unlikely sources suggesting that AMC will simply fit out some of its existing cinemas with IMAX.
A more intriguing, but long time, rumour is that Apple would like to turn it into a flagship store! This seems a little unlikely, it doesn't seem like the ideal place for a new york style Apple megastore given Orlando already has a store at each major Mall but then again when has Apple ever passed up an opportunity to show off? It would certainly be a perfect location for a show!
A recent announcement by Microsoft states that it too plans to open large retail stores, what better location to launch a set of retail stores than at Disney. Huge high profile area and as yet, not an apple logo in sight. Microsoft would be able to pull in partners like sony, hp and others to fill out the space with the latest in multimedia - not so very far away from what Virgin was trying, poorly, to do there.
So what will become of the space? Apple? Microsoft? or "just" a huge Disney store?
