View Full Version : Fun with Frames

I know you guys have already seen these photos in collages, but I thought I'd post a few of my favorite singles and try out a few frames as lozzy suggested. If you're looking for a free, user-friendly program to add frames (as well as some other really nice techniques) check out the new edit program in Photobucket. I find it a really powerful piece of software!

I like this contrast:

A nice scrapbooking effect:

Cool filter:

A little color to make it "pop" :)

Probably my favorite of the day, such an incredible flower...it's called a "bleeding heart"

Same program, different feature. This one allows you to make a poster from your photo...I thought this one was pretty cool :D

...with a little bit of accent color:

I'll stop now before I bore you! Thanks for looking though!

We gave Herself's mother a white with red bleeding heart for Mother's Day one year. It's beautiful. I used to have a pink one like the one in your photo when we lived in the northeast.

Beautiful effects!! You should consider framing them.

Thanks guys! BTW Billie, the color accent feature that we were talking about in the other thread can also be done in this editing program, quite easily too!

Which editing program? My Corel doesn't do that as well as I had hoped, or more likely I need more practice. :D

04-05-2009, 02:03 AM
Duh, you mean the photobucket. :D

04-05-2009, 02:19 AM
I do mean Photobucket, FD  Sorry if I was unclear...I'm beat :)

Yeah, if you wanna try it out, let me know and I'll walk you through it...it's pretty easy.

I think I will definitely sign up then. As I love this effect (almost as much as my time effect). :D
I'll take that walk thru anytime.

Ok, so let me get your started...

Once you've uploaded a photo to photobucket, click the edit button. Once on the edit page, you'll see a row of tabs across the top of the screen. If you choose the "GEEK" tab it will take you to a second page. Once there, choose the "smart recolor" option. Once chosen, this will open up a sort of "pop up window" on top. In the right hand corner of the "pop up" you'll see a video tutorial. Watch it :) I'm not being flip, I swear, but there is NO way I could explain it any better than this step by step walk through does. The only thing I have to add to what you will learn from the vid tutorial is that if you want to just have the "color splash" (and the rest in B&W) choose the color black or gray as your "recolor" option (this will make more sense when you get started  )

Give it a try and have some fun, it does take a bit of patience and finessing, but you'll get it! Can't wait to see the results! If you have any questions, give me a shout!

Thank you so much!!!! You rock! :hug2: Am off to watch the video.....

Okay, here's my first attempt! Thank you again. I'm not wanting to derail your thread, just wanted to show you that I listen well. ;)

See there!! And the second one turned out even BETTER!!! Just think of what you'll be able to accomplish as you progress :D

04-05-2009, 01:12 PM
I know  I'm very excited. Thanks again!

04-05-2009, 01:23 PM
You're very welcome! Can't wait to see more!

BTW, take a look at some of the other "color splash" photos on photobucket, some of them are AMAZING...and are great for inspiration and ideas!
