Dont all die of shock but I have never been to any of the water parks

I keep hearing that some are open some are closed part of the year so can someone help explain. Is there only 1 water theme park open at any one time? Do we need special tickets and if so which? Are they even worth it?

They're both open most of the year but in the winter they close one at a time for a good clean up.

Are they worth it? I think so. As close to a chill-out day as we ever get.

Someone else will have to explain tickets, I'm all out of date with those.

The Disney water parks are scrubbed and polished every two years so each winter one of them is closed but the other open, not sure on the re-furb schedule of WnW and Aquatica although the latter is brand new so shouldn't need doing and given recent reports on WnW I don't think re-furbing is at the top of the owners list

They are worth a trip, I missed out in 2005 'cos of earache and was gutted

Gavin doesn't swim at all but loves the lazy river and is happy to take pics of me getting a wedgy on the flumes!

Wet and Wild and Aquatica are included in the 5 and 6 Park Orlando Flex-Ticket and the Disney ones are included in tickets bought from the UK, the tickets have 'plus's' on them and a 'plus' gets you into a water park (how many plus's depends on how many days for Disney you buy, the Ultimate tickets mean you can get in and out of the main Disney parks and Water parks as often as you like in that time period)

Wet and Wild doesn't have the theming that the other water parks have - just lots of blue plastic and hot concrete. The Disney parks are more relaxing - nice wave pools, and you can easily kill a couple of hours drifting round the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon.

Do not go on Slush Gusher at Blizzard Beach without having a set of forceps waiting at the bottom for you.

Forceps also highly recommended for Summit Plummet!

The water parks are great! I sit back and relax while the family tears off round the slides.

As regards tickets, you can either pay at the gate or buy one of the many multi-day hoppers, which include water park option.

Magical Moments.

I just love the water parks, as it is a lovely way to spend the day chilling out.
Summit Plummet, a deffo big NO NO for me.
I am not the best of swimmers http://bestsmileys.com/water/14.gif so i only go for paddles, which i am not afraid to admit.

I do do the lazy river though, as i can really relax and soak up the hot http://bestsmileys.com/sun/3.gif and just let all my cares drift away.
Gosh i wish i was there now.http://bestsmileys.com/crying/3.gif

I've never made it to a water park either because no one ever wants to go with me. However, it seems that I have a couple of trips coming up in the next couple of years and I'm so gonna make someone go so I can do the lazy river.

Dawnie will you take me :hb:

My favourite is definatley Typhoon Lagoon! The waves are AMAZING! and the new (At least it was when I went... in 2005 LOL) waterslide/coaster is there!

Blizzard beach is a close second, Wet 'n' Wild is good, but not really amazing. If you go to europe a lot and go in their waterparks, then that's what to expect from W'n' wild.

Plastic and HOT HOT HOT concrete.

We love Typhoon Lagoon! But then that's the only water park we've been to while visiting WDW. We did Wet and Wild, but once we did TL we never looked back!

We love Typhoon Lagoon, and to be honest the wave pool keeps us occupied for ages. Blizzard Beach is good but we much prefer TL. We can do ages jumping the massive waves. There are also some fab water rides. Slush N Gusher is fantastic, but make sure you pull your butt up, or else you may get a broken Coccyx.

We are water babies so the water parks were a must for us & we weren't disapointed! (TL & BB) WNW is quite dated now.
Not sure if I could name a fave park really they both have their own great bits. Ds & dh enjoyed Shark Reef very much a bit cold for me! I loved the wave pool at TL.
The climbs up to the rides are a bit exhausting if you're carrying heavy rafts etc tho.
I thought they'd be chillin days but turned out to be just as busy as a normal day at disney lol! We parked our stuff and off we went to ride! You can get sunloungers or lockers for your stuff. Def recommend the refillables I think it was $19.95 (?) and then when you go to the other waterpark just pay for a sticker for that day if you take your mug with you. Excellent value we only bought one and just shared!

Make sure you put lots of suncream on esp. if you are doing lazy river!

I got badly burned despite regular reapplication - because you just don't realise how much you are getting burned while you are all nice and cool and relaxed!

I didn't make it to a water park last trip - toooo cold! But am hoping to go at least one day this trip!
