I once heard that a swan blew up a man's house because it wasn't in keeping with the village's rustic aesthetic.

I got bitten by a goose once but I never go near swans. Especially when they are protecting their babies. :gairy:

I've heard those wings could break a man's arm.

I had a swans wing hit me once, well a couple of times. The bone in their wings is VERY hard and I can see it happen. Don't let them hit you with their wings.

were you thinking of teasing them a bit Helly, you know, just to see what they'd do?

It is one of those things people say Helly for sure - I have also never seen anyone who has had their 'eye taken out' by anything either

yes , but we have all learned to live with it

its like global warming - if you think too hard about it you can get yourself in a right state and lose the ability to function properly, so we just let her 'be' and so far no Polar bears have suffered as far as I'm aware

I'm afraid i did know someone who have their eye taken out by the lid of a coke bottle....literally. She was a friend of my brothers, unfortunately she passed on for a different reason.

As she was unscrewing the lid the pressure behind it made it shoot off and into her eye. She lost her eye. It was some time ago, when people were being made aware of the dangers. She did recieve compensation, i cannot remember now how much but it was nowhere near enough to compensate for the loss of her eye.
