This is Shogun.
My computer has crashed. When I start it up it comes up with the page saying start up safe mode or with networking or command or normal.
It has a 30 second count down then continues for a few seconds then shuts down and re-starts in the same loop.
Any ideas apart from a full restore?

do you have the XP original cdrom around anywhere? you could boot off that and do a repair and possibly a system restore to a few days ago

Not got a re boot disc, but do have a set of discs for a complete reset to factory settings.

I have lots of work stored on my computer that i have not backed up onto my external hard drive, silly i know.

That means if i do a complete reset i will loose everything.http://bestsmileys.com/crying/2.gif

to be honest, they're so cheap these days, it's almost cheaper to replace them with a nice new one than to fix!
