I have a Sony DCR-TRV11E camcorder which we bought in 2001 and cost over 1000.I have no intention of changing it as it takes great video but i would also like to make use of it's still image facility.
The problem i am having is i can't find a memory stick to fit it.

It came with a 32mb memory stick which looks like this

Sony MSA-128A Memory Stick: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MSA128A-MSA-128A-Memory-Stick/dp/B00005NHH8/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241886761&sr=8-18)

However you can't get hold of them anymore :(

What i'm trying to find out is would one of these work?

Sony Pro Duo 4gb Memory Stick For Sony PSP & PS3: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Pro-Memory-Stick-Electronics/dp/B000PC8ZBY/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241886761&sr=8-17)

My logic is that the adaptor makes it compatible and slots straight into the camera as it is now the same size as the original.

I've been researching this all day and can't seem to find the answer so i hope someone can help.

We have the same sort of thing in one of ours and it works fine :) Ours doesn't go in a video camera but we have the old-style slots on the front of our computer and Dad's camera takes the small style card, so we use the adaptor when we put it in the card reader. Works great.

T yes it will you get an adapter for the duo card, you slot the duo card into the adapter then that into the camera and should work fine....make sure you have the camera set on its highest res tho :D

why cant you get em its 24 quid on amazon you just sent the link lol

Think i will just stick to a 1gb as the video camera might not support a bigger card as it's only for a 64mb in at the mo!

They don't do 1gb at Argos and i'm not paying 30 for a 2gb as Argos isn't the easiest place to get to when i have to pick it up and return it!

Just looked again at the card in there at the mo and it's only 32mb!
It's got 331 pics on it at the mo so i'm sure a 1gb will be fine!

It's only to take extra pics on alongside the digital camera.

At the end of the day if i buy one of the net for 10 and it don't work i'm sure someone will find a use for it.

Apparently Jack can use it for his PSP.

Looks like it!

Someone has offered me a selection of the old blue sticks so it looks like i'm stuck with them!

If i can get hold of a new stick and adaptor i can try it but it's not worth me buying one myself.

Next time i'm in town i will tak ethe camera to Dixons where we bought it from and ask them to test it and find out for me!Hopefully someone there will know!
