Tuesday 25th December

Its Christmas! In Florida! Really, really, really unusual. We opened presents and ate chocolate. Diane and I still a bit sick. Played with presents and then went for a wander. We ended up at Downtown Disney - having used the bus. Lucy decided to play in the fountain and had to have a new top. The girls somehow managed to select $18 worth of pic-n-mix - either it is really expensive or they have a lot of candy. Georgina bought a my little pony stuff the box thing - so we stuffed the box. Caught the bus back and hit the pool. Chicken fingers all around. Walked back and crashed out.
By far and away the most peculiar Christmas Day any of us had ever had - not bad - just different.

Wednesday 26th December.

I was awake from about 4am. At 5am I got up and went for a walk. It was raining so I decided to get some supplies. I took the car along to Walgreens to pick up some orange juice, milk and water. Off to MGM today! Lucy and I went on Rock n Roller Coaster whilst Di and Georgina got some celery and carrot sticks - some people really know how to have a good time. Lucy was a little apprehensive but loved it when the ride was over.

We had gotten some fast passes so Lucy rode again with Diane. Then it was time to watch High School Musical - Schools Out. No sign of Alice Cooper - go figure. Lucy enjoyed it anyway. We then hit the Muppets and the Backlot tour. The park was heaving now so we headed back to the hotel. Took the bus - leaving the car in the car park. Had a couple of hours rest then returned to the park at about six o’ clock. Got some Pizza at Pizza Planet. Wandered around Osbourne lights.

Pretty amazing and made everyone feel much better - worth the admission price alone. Headed back to the hotel and crashed out. Diane did most of the packing up so that we could head off in the morning.

I love the carrot and celery sticks comment! :D :D

Christmas at WDW is a bit peculiar to be sure. Everyone doing non Christmassy things, eh? It's a good thing you didn't have a special meal reserved what with feeling a bit off still.

Looking forward to reading more! :D

Yes - it was a little peculiar that we had not arranged a meal for Christmas dinner. I think it was all a conspiracy.

Yet another great installment  Love the photos of the kids in the fountains
I sure know what you mean about the Christmas Days being different....you have to keep reminding yourself it is actually Christmas Day! Last Christmas Day, we spent at a friends villa in Cape Coral having a BBQ by the pool. The previous Christmas Day we had fish 'n' chips for our dinner at Epcot. It wasn't supposed to be that way, we just got to MK too late and they were at capacity.
Osborne Lights are pretty cool eh  It's an indescribable, magical feeling you get when walking through them.

Cape Coral? That's quite a ways from WDW, Issy. Seth and his Da live there.

We were quite lucky in that Diane's family and mine both made us proper Christmas dinners before we went - so we had two dinners instead of one!

We are going again this year over Christmas and I do not think we shall plan anything special this time either. In a way I think that Christmas, for us, is first thing in the morning with the kids opening presents.

When we returned Diane and I both said that we would not go away over Christmas again - but having foregone our trip this year we are all keen to spend Christmas in the sun once again.

Yes, Christmas is what you make of it, isn't it?

It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do it's a pretty nice Christmas overall, here at Disney innit? :D

I'll get started on the order for decent weather. We've had more than one miserable weather experience at WDW over Christmas. :sigh: We'll see if the Old Girl listens, hey? :D

We used it as the start of our 5 day tour....we then moved on to Naples.
