I even love the waythe power lead magnetically sticks to the port - and don't get me started on the glowing apple and keyboard

I know there is so much more to learn - so many apllications not even opened yet - the journey begins but as a piece of design and art it is beautiful

It really is. I'm amazed that after so many years the pc laptop folks haven't copied the elegant design features.
The design of Mac alone is the seduction. Especially for those of us who remain militantly ungeek. :D
I mean, there isn't a more sensual piece of equipment out there.

I know I was just stroking it all night.
Oh and I love the choice of background that was put on ;) and the homepage in safari :D
The ultimate test will be 'in the field' but I will have to wait for that on account of no moon and cloud

Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits
On a lurgid bee
That mordiously hath bitled out
Its earted jurtles
Into a rancid festering
Now the jurpling slayjid agrocrustles
Are slurping hagrilly up the axlegrurts
And living glupules frart and slipulate
Like jowling meated liverslime
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me
With crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or else I shall rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon
See if I don't.
(could be worse, at least it wasn't Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings - shudder)

Did you use the keyboard back light as a soft, glowy, night light?
Oh and I love the choice of background that was put on ;) and the homepage in safari :D
Ohh... what background is that? And did they give you the Safari 4 Public Beta?
Tom (:macwave:... sits back and enjoys the view)
 Keith!
I love it though. Yeah, I'm weird. :sigh: The Vogon I mean.
Yepper, our Slowhand is the next person on the list...

Oh Chris....
Now that you've got your new baby, you may want to pop over to this link. It's the Apple downloads page. (http://www.apple.com/uk/downloads/) Lots of interesting goodies! Some might even be useful.
Oh... and I know I mentioned Photoshop Elements at some point, but I think I forgot to mention Pixelmator (http://www.pixelmator.com/). It's a relatively new image processing app. Quite nice. And a bit cheaper than Photoshop!
Tom (:macwave:... just trying to help!)

They tried. They failed. I suppose the black-casing they use compliments the blue-screens that plague them :point:

PSE was what I really needed as it has some very cool plug ins just for astronomy - the processing of those images are a little different to standard photos but I have installed them and they are up and running.
I have put on half a dozen bits and bobs last night one or 2 I had to install twice as they seem to run compleytely differently under windows and OS and to get my super de duper flashy camera working I have to run it under a complete windows boot - sorry about that.
Thanks for the link but before I go too far I want to learn the basics with what I have ( loads as it transpires)
tonight is the night of the 'moving of itunes without losing it all'

Chris,
Here's an article (http://reviews.cnet.com/ipod/9602-12576_7-0.html?messageID=2510455&kw=ipod) on how to do that. This method doesn't take your playlists and album meta data (artwork, etc.) along but it will work. There's other, slightly more complicated methods available out on the net that will take it all.
Tom (:macwave:... hope it helps!)

I hope so I relly culdn't stand to put all my cd's through the sytem again
I have it all backed up to an external drive so TBH I was hoping on just dragging and dropping the files directly from that into the relevent files on the computer
