From: The Orlando Sentinel

The new Pirates League will try to do for buccaneers what the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has done for little princesses at Disney World.

The attraction, which will open at Magic Kingdom theme park June 29, will perform swashbuckling makeovers. Participants will receive pirate names before receiving a variety of accessories, including beards, eye patches, scarves, scars, earrings and gold teeth. These will be applied by a "veteran pirate" with sea-sailing tales.

After taking a sacred oath and an official portrait, guests will be part of Jack Sparrow's gang.

There will be three pirate packages.

+ First Mate Package ($49.95): bandana, choice of facial effects, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, 5x7 photo and a "personalized pirate oath."

+ Empress Package ($49.95): bandana, "shimmering" makeup, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, 5x7 photo and a "personalized pirate oath."

+ Captains Package ($124.95): choice of costume, facial effects, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, three 5x7 photos and the personalized oath.

The League will be located in the area between the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the Pirates Merchandise shop. (Disney says this is currently backstage territory.)

But hang tight, mateys: Reservations cannot be made until May 11.

Isn't it though, Dawn? WDW has long dismissed little boys and that is just plain silly. There are pirates and princes, and many little guys would love to get up in the garb of their chosen!

It's going to be too neat to see the little boys in costume now along with all the princesses!

All we need is a pirate character meal now. :D

Looks like a package is available for the non-princessy girls, too!

Lexie absolutely refused to even consider anything princess on our trip! Her cousin (a year younger) is very much a princess--at Disney and in real life!

It is most definitely NOT too late for you Lisaw!!! Anyone over the age of three can experience their inner pirate! Come by and take a look!

This is a great experience. We are in soft opening right now and the feedback is great! You can make reservations now and up to 90 days out from your trip!

Im hearing such great things about this experience across the internet. It really looks like the Disney CMs have done a wonderful job on this one, just look at some of the photos below. Keith can we have this featured on the front website page?

We went through a very rigorous and thorough training to make this experience immersive and fun! It is great to see the faces of everyone as they go through their pirate transformations!! Old and young alike seem to be enjoying it! And the fact that it continues after the makeover with a "treasure hunt" in Adventureland is icing on the cake! That part may not start right away, but within a couple of weeks it will roll out!
