Well, I know that our own Slowhand is off shortly to Royal Albert Hall in the "big city" for some entertainment from his hero. Don't know exactly when but I do know it's fairly soon.

As such, I thought he (and you) might like a little something to "set the mood".

This:

Terry, we'll expect to hear all about it when you get back!

Tom (:macwave:... stuck in the 60's... still)

The man is a legend ( oh and Claptons not bad either)

(:macwave: Chris stuck with GOOD music ;) )

Yep you are correct Tom..boy you have a good memory!

The EC concert is this Saturday [May 16th] and we managed to get seats in a box with hot food and complimentary drinks as part of the package. [The tickets cost an arm and a leg, but hey it IS Eric so what the heck!]

There is also a chance that we will get back stage passes thanks to our friend who works for WB records, but we won`t know for sure until the last minute if this will happen. I`m trying not to get too excited just yet as we`ve "been there before" and EC is apparently quite a shy guy who doesn`t go in for many meet and greets, but fingers crossed that it will happen this time eh?

Thanks for the link Tom.

My friend sent me a signed photo [signed by EC and JJ Cale] which was the shot used on the cover of an album they made together a while back.
This came along with a copy of an email from the PR boss of WB as authentication, as they signed the photo in front of her while she was interviewing them both.

Needless to say though Chris, it`s not for sale!

Terry

You should be in for a good night - if the reviews of the opening night in Dublin are anything to go by!

What is it about that opening guitar riff for Layla! Electrifying!

I hope the concert is all it's expected to be Terry, and I DO SO hope that the other bit works out too!

I can't imagine the excitement of being in Dublin AND seeing Eric Clapton. :sigh:

It won`t be for the lack of trying on my friends part to set up the meet, that`s for sure.

True Tink, although the concert I will be at is in London at the Royal Albert Hall...EC`s regular multi-night gig on most of his tours.

Thanks for the link Nicki, I`m beginning to get in the mood now. :guitar:

I saw one of the EC/Mark Knopfler concerts a few years ago. It was nice to see Eric leave the stage after announcing that Mark was going to play "That song" which turned out to be Money for Nothing with that great opening guitar riff.

Terry said he was going to wear his denims even though he was in a box

There are two reasons I can think of as to why he won't get away with it ............ the first and most important one is Sue  and the second on is it the Albert Hall

Hey hold on there...it wouldn`t be the same seeing EC without wearing my denims despite the box seats.
Apart from that, the almost obligatory purchase of a sweat/tee shirt would look odd if I wore it with my tuxedo!
