I'm a member. I signed up when it first came out. Worth it? I'm still deciding. I've received several beautifully designed magazines, a limited edition poster (which I really need to get matted and framed), a replica of a fan that people used at Disneyland when it first opened, and something else... I don't remember what. There's special D23 merchandise that you can buy, and there are gatherings and special events.

What is D23?

D23 is "The Official Community for Disney Fans", or so their site says!
I looked into it when it first came about and didn't see anything that would interest me. I'm an AP holder and a DVC member and as such I get special info, glossy publications and special offers through those avenues. Couldn't see paying for something that wasn't clearly an advantage (from my perspective, of course).

I can understand that, Tink. I'm sure it's not for everyone - heck, after this initial year, it may not be for me! I'm not DVC, so I don't get a lot of additional info (other than what I get from my AP), so I figured I'd give it a shot. See what it had to offer.

Donna, I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the stuff they sent you if you don't mind.
I bought the magazine at Barnes and Nobles. It was $15 but nicely made and had lots of Walt stuff in it.

Sure, Johnie. I'll see what I can do. The magazines I've gotten so far are nice. Oversized, glossy, full of Disney.

Thanks Donna. I have the first one with Donald on the cover. I hadn't realized a second one was out already.

I think the Donald issue is actually the second, not the first... The first issue has a black and white picture of a movie camera and a gentleman.

Well shoot. I missed that one entirely then.

Johnie, which one did you get ? I have the premiere issue . Had two left at the Disney Store . Mine has Walt with the camera filming in his young days . Then it was 75 years Happy Bday w/Donald Duck . I'm thinking about it b/c you get some nice pins . Saw some at the pin event . One was Classic Mic on one side Steamboat Wil on the other and D23 in the middle . Real Nice Pin !
I still have mine sealed in the plastic sleeve . Along with my collection of Michaell Jackson Magazines .

I don't know if its Walt . It kind of looks like him , but may just be a director .
I like that stuff Donna . Did it give you options to buy pins ? I need to get the Donald one . Johnie ~ I'll ask when I go up to my Disney Store , if any, by chance weren't sold .
