car hire insurance question

i notice that the car hire companies don't cover you for damage to windscreen, tyres or undercarriage, can you pay extra for this on pick up and if so does anyone have an idea how much? thanks

never ever even thought about those tbh i thought we were covered for everything as they tell you...will have to ask next time i book
