Apple out of warranty service?

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience of using apple's out of warranty service?
My iphone has developed some grey lines pretruding from the right hand side of the screen. Posted on the apple forum and they have said it is a problem with the video chip and that its likely to get worse (they have already grown)
I can still use the touch function on that area of the screen so i dont need a new digitizer.
Anyone got a rough idea on price?

Good news. The lines are breaking up and they appear to be fixing themselves!

The lines are gradually getting smaller I think. I keep taking photos for reference and the lines are dissapering and leaving perfectly good pixels behind, too!
