Sorry if these are getting boring but I am taking photos at regular intervals as its great to be able to look back on the development of the eggs.

Here are some pics in which you can clearly see that there is a lot of development underway.

That is awesome Josh. You can so clearly see what's going on. I must show Lily tonight. Every day she asks have they broken out yet.

Just over 5 weeks!!! :thud: I'm getting impatient!!

Siobhan, I wish I could show people in real life, the pictures don't do it justice! I caught them at the right time the other day and could see bits moving!! like a heartbeat.

The webcam still hasn't arrived yet so the eggsfactor will have to wait LOL

Thanks for the update Josh, fantastic pics, can't wait for you to start the eggsfactor. Now I know I probably sound stupid, but just wondered if you put a high quality microphone on them if you would be able to hear the heartbeat?

Perhaps when they are a bit bigger that might work. You can hear them scratching in the egg apparently when they are close to hatching. I can't imagine a microphone to work though

I wonder what the melting point of a crayola is? I reckon teef marks would make it melt much quicker... and perhaps I'll rip the paper.

I will keep two I think, They sell for 100 from breeders, even though people think that they can make a lot from them, when you work out the heating costs alone you are always going to make a loss.

I suppose you would be paying that if they where breeding or not, but breeding is only profitable when done in HUGE quantities. I will just be glad of a bit of money to pay my Dad back for the electric and vets bills he's payed over the years for rescues etc.

Can you send them through the post?

WHAT??

josh.p.

Some people do send them by courier in boxes, personally I think it's pretty cruel, even if they are well marked it does not stop things falling on them, and it would be easy enough for them to be dropped in transit. Apart from that, temperatures can fluctuate and they would be at the depot over night. You can send all sorts of animals by couriers, but it's not the best option really.

It would be quicker than letting them walk though

:rotfl: They are pretty speedy when they want to be- Yesterday I found a dandelion so threw the flower over to Gus, Yanni decided it was hers, and before gus could even take a bite of it, Yanni ran from one side of the enclosure to the other side and snatched this dandelion flower from Gus!! :rotfl: Wish I got it on film.
