Hi

I want to buy a camera at the duty free store at the airport but Ive head that virgin are very strict on only one carry on into the plane for economy

will they say I have to fit the camera box inside my carry on bag or do they allow a duty free bag in addition does anyone know?

When we went in 2001 i had a carry on bag and a huge statue of Mickey wrapped up in a towel on the way home.
In 2003 i brought home a limited edition Castle in a bag as extra.
The kids have always had a bag as well as a cuddly toy too.

That's nothing compared to what some people 'carry on'.

Unless things have changed i'm sure you'll be fine with a camera.

You collect most [if not all] duty free purchases made at the airport from the walkway immediately before you board the plane, not from the actual shop itself.
On this basis every passenger who has made duty free purchases will be carrying them on board as an additional item so there`s nothing to worry about.

hmmm yeah but with cameras I'm not so sure. I've done this from Dixons at manchester airport before and they've just given it to me there and then in a bag.

Now having said that, I wasn't given any hassle about carrying it on board as well as my hand luggage but who knows.

At Orlando we WERE given hassle about carrying a large soft toy on along with a carry on bag and were asked to put it inside :/

Sorry for the confusion there. I was referring to the duty free shops at Orlando.
At Manchester, yes you are given your purchases there and then.
