I'm angry. :furious:

Remember just before Christmas my cousin lost her partner in a traffic accident leaving her to bring up two children on her own?

Today she had a letter from the Inland Revenue threatening to come into her house and seize goods because Jon was late in filing his tax return. Apparently being dead is not a good enough excuse.

Shocking, incompetent beyond belief, but worse than that, devastating for her.

How awful for your cousin and the rest of the family. Unbelievable that this kind of thing happens, and keeps happening, it just makes the grieving process so much harder - our thoughts are with your family :hug2:

Ah no. What a terrible thing to have to experience. I don't know how things work in the UK of course, but I do hope she has some recourse to this situation. I do understand working for a huge governmental agency. I used to do so myself. However, I never, ever not ONCE forgot that I was the public's servant and the person I was going to be working with was a human being...not a contract. Sounds like that agency needs to remember they are dealing with HUMAN beings and not tax accounts. :(

it's shocking enough for us to hear of the sheer incompetence, your poor cousin must have been beside herself. Thoughts and hugs for her and your whole family Dawn :hug2::hug2:

Well apparently it's sorted now, she got hold of the one sympathetic person who works for the Inland Revenue yesterday.

Still bloody angry though. :furious:
