Tuesday

Had to get up at 6am again - this time the dog needed a wee. :surrender:

Everyone was awake by 7.15am and the sun is shining again after yesterdays slightly overcast day.

Remember a while back we had a thread about tipping and I said we always tip Mousekeeping because on holiday we are really messy?

Case in point. :D

Anyway we had a quick tidy up and threw some laundry in the machine and remembered to put the rubbish out for collection. Steven chose frosted shreddies today. A quick watch of Boogie Beebies - yo ho, yo hee hee - and then we sat and waited for the world's slowest washing machine to finish its cycle before setting off for the day.

Today we are going to Looe. :D

Bags are packed and we are suncreamed up and Adrian drives down. We park on the west side of Looe - the river divides the town into east and west - and set off for a walk along by the harbour.

A little bit of an explore around the town.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/dawn_ash/DSCF1248.jpg

And then it's time for refreshments.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/dawn_ash/DSCF1250.jpg

And then carry on walking along the harbour wall.

For we are not headed to the main beach in Looe. Oh no, that beach is not dog-friendly :nono: so we are off round the corner to the "second" beach. Well the second beach is the best beach. There are pockets of sandy areas to sit and play, and some pebbly areas but mostly it is rocks. And rocks at low tide mean rockpools. And rockpools rule.

It's our best. :D

Even the local ducks like rockpooling.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/dawn_ash/DSCF1267.jpg

We were there for a couple of hours, just us and the few people who knew about this treasure of a beach. Willow loved it. Doggie friends to play with and lots of new smells to check out. Even Daddy got up and had an explore.

Then, despite being told not to try running, Steven tried to run and fell over. Two cuts, one on his knee and one on his toe. Luckily I had two plasters and some clean water to wash them with. So one patched up boy later we walk back up to the town for lunch. On the way back we had a bit of a rain shower and all the people in the sea dashed out and ran for shelter. :point:

We walked over to the east side and found a pub with a roof garden that overlooked the beach - dogs allowed. Steven and myself had a pasty each and shared a basket of cheesy chips.

This is Adrian's lunch.

After lunch we had a stroll through the shops. Steven had some money to spend but insisted all he wanted was a Power Rangers Megazord. Well the first shop we went in - they had one. He was very pleased with his purchase and wanted to go straight home to play with it.

We dropped our shopping and bags back at the car and went exploring some more.

Steven had been pestering all day to go into the amusement arcade so Adrian took him in for a bit while I took the dog out and picked up a couple of local caches. :D Then came back to watch this...

Just time for a quick ice cream and then I think we're all done for the day. I drove back which was funny because Adrian kept trying to brake and kept leaning in when I drove through the narrow bits.

Quick stop at the farm shop for some essential supplies that will be revealed tomorrow and then it's back to the bungalow for cherryade. The dog is once again broken.

Steven checks out his new purchase.

Dinner is sossidges, mash, carrots and broccoli, with a peach for dessert.

Now. I phone my parents because they are due to move house in two days and I'm checking that all is still ok because it's not been the smoothest of house sales. Mum tells me that she was going to do peas with their dinner that night but she couldn't as she has already packed the tin opener.

Ohohohoh I see a bird on the bungalow site that, thanks to last nights Springwatch I successfully identify as a chaffinch.

I tried to watch Springwatch but was so tired I gave up and went to bed at 8.40pm. :sorry: Steven was still awake.

Peas and a tin opener

Looe looks lovely - I'm with you on the beach - mush prefer interesting beaches - we took the dog to Lulworth Cove last week and he had a great time running around with the other dogs in and out of the sea and it's another great beach to explore as long as you ignore all the signs to be careful of falling rocks!

Is that pink and yellow felty thing in the last photo one of Willows toys? We had one like that but it now in hundreds of individual pieces

Yes it's a Willow toy. It's lasted nearly a year which is about 364.5 days longer than they normally last.

Looe reminds me of certain areas in Maine. It has a proper beach! Not one of those sugary sand sissy beaches.

I love the shot of you and Steven on the rock, and then with Adrian kneeling by Steven. Those are permanent memories. Things lives are made of and moments that will be shared with generations yet to come. Beautiful. Leaking alert! :spring:

Your lunch sounds lovely, but whatever is that in the little bowl on Adrian's plate?

Peas. :sigh: Do ya'll never eat any other veggie?

How do you pronounce Looe, by the way? LooEE or some other way?

Had to have another look at those lovely pictures. I would love to move into one of those houses along the harbor. What a gorgeous area.

Tink you say Looe just as it is.No emphasis on the 'e' just loo.

It's just 20 minutes away from where we live and we used to go there with Mum and Dad most Sundays just for a walk and an ice cream.

Haven't taken the kids for ages though so i think we may pop down this weekend.
