ok we've booked a lot but I want to get in a couple of character dinners
I was thinking that chef mickeys maybe the best but how does it compare to crystal palace or is there another we should think about?

One of he major differences in character meals are the characters that attend that meal. Crystal Palace has the Pooh characters. Chef Mickey's has Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, etc. So, are there any particular characters you'd like to see? You could narrow down your choices that way.

We've enjoyed the one at the Yacht & Beach Club. It had Chip & Dale, Pluto, Goofy and Minnie.
The name of the restaurant escapes me at the moment. :mental:

It's Cape May and I really like that restaurant, it never seems quite as manic as Chef Mickey's. Characters there are Chip n Dale, Goofy (or is it Pluto?) and Minnie is at the front for people to go up and see

When we were there last, Pluto was definately there but I also thought I saw Goofy. Maybe that was just my brother-in-law.

Hi, DF!
We've never tried Cape May, but everyone talks so highly about it, we may just have to give it a try!

We are trying Cape May for the first time on Labor Day weekend..... I also like Crystal Palace, I think the food is very good....
Cape May's character meal is a breakfast.
Choosing a character meal is often done by selecting one that features the characters you most want to see. That isn't always the best choice, eh?
For example, the Cape May Character Breakfast is one of the best kept secrets of WDW. (SSSSHHHHH!!!!)! :D The characters there are known for their interaction with guests, all guests not just children and Minnie often holds court off to the (right) side in a little anteroom.
Chef Mickey's is the big boy, of course and as you'd expect, chaotic with so-so food.
Depending upon why you want to go to the meal (to eat, or to interact, or preferably to enjoy both! :) ) is what should drive your decision.
