Is there a good chinese in Orlando? It doesnt have to be a buffet after reading here about those, but any really nice chinese other than nine-dragons of course?

argh I really hope someone DOES know of one, but I havent found any :(

We asked ages ago and were told either Ming Court or China Jade... well we tried China Jade and hmmmmm  it was very cheap that's for sure but DW was very unhappy with the area it was in and the general cleanliness of the place.

Not tried ming court yet

I guess the best we've found is PF Changs at the Mall at Millenia which although a chain and so somewhat standard, is pretty consistently good

Nope. I can honestly say that I've not had decent Chinese in Orlando. If you want to take a bit of a drive (not all that far) there are some EXCELLENT Thai and Vietnamese places on 50/Colonial Drive.

Josh - you would be shocked to see the Mercado now! We went there to see the Titanic Exhibit and except for that, which has now gone, it looks like a desolate wasteland!

Do not eat at the Chinese CS in Epcot either! Our only *bad* meal of the trip. If they bring out the green tea and ginger ice cream - RUN!

There is a lovely place in Tampa, but that's probably too far for Chinese. :D

You don't like green tea?! :shocked025: I am addicted to the stuff!

I'm not shocked that it looked like a wasteland, It looked sad that it shut down... they had a lovely ice cream shop on the corner and the bloke who ran it was english, he had tons of english footy teams banners and stuff, shame that a lot of businesses have closed down :(

Is there any plans on replacing it?

oh and to stay on topic...

I liked the chinese food at the NBC place in MGM :gy:

Believe me, you would not like it in ice cream form - but the ginger ice cream was the worst!!

Titanic has since moved from there as well, shame :(

ABC is owned by Disney and I think NBC is owned by Universal. No one cares about poor CBS I suppose....

Where is Nine Dragons and what's wrong with it?

It's at Epcot although it's closed for refurb until end of November :) they're supposed to be making it a bit more interesting, open kitchen and so on.

It's not that there's anything wrong with it exactly, it's just always felt like it should be better than it is. Not very authentic, ok but not magically wonderful food or service. It was particularly bad a few years back, then they closed it for awhile, opened it and everyone was really enthusiastic. It was great for a few months, then went back down to a bit of a yawn.

Hoping that in December it'll be as good as it deserves to be
