What are some good games for the DS lite? We're getting one to play with on the plane.

I love playing Lego Star Wars and Wall E on the wii.

Nothing from Hong Kong or China please.

:r2d2:

Note from Mum: he's noticed some games on ebay come from the Far East and wants nothing to do with them.

I personally love all the Mario games. You can't go wrong with the classic guy!

I'd invest in a RD4 card (or similar), you can download (legally!) games onto the card which is cheaper and more efficient (no little cards to loose every time he swaps over)

the mario games are great and have loads of mini games which is cool - we just bought a pictionary type one from sainsburys for 6 and the whole family plays that its great.

Indiana Jones and batman lego are avaliable on the DS as well

professor layton will keep mummy busy

Another vote for the RS card here. We've got dozens of games on one card. Prof Layton is fab.

What's this card thingy you are all talking about?

The R4, DSTT, M3 (All virtually the same thing just different manufacturers) are cartridges that plug into the game card slot on a DS and allow you to copy games, music and video onto them by means of a MicroSD memory card.

From a gaming point of view they are used for Homebrew (free games and apps) They can also be used for playing backups of original games to avoid the risk of damaging the original cartridge. Obviously copyright laws would prevent you from just downloading games from the Internet

You can also copy MP3 files and video files (once converted to a specific format)

And where would one purchase one of these cards?

Here (for DSi)

R4i Nintendo DSi / DS Lite Adapter + 8GB MicroSDHC Card 35.99 - Free Delivery (http://www.mymemory.co.uk/R4-Adaptors/R4/R4i-Nintendo-DSi-_-DS-Lite-Adapter-%2B-8GB-MicroSDHC-Card)

Look around the website, there are also options with smaller memory cards etc.

I again vote for a R4 card, we have 4 in our house and are packed with lots of games, I pay to be a member of a site and I can download as and when I like, If your not to sure on how it work email me and I can offer some help, I did another members a few months back.

OK we've ordered a card thingy. What sites do you all use to download your games?

I'm wary of "free downloads" because a lot of them piggy back nasty things onto your PC and Adrian would slap me. :slap:

We used link removed - this is an illegal download site which wdisneysecrets.com does not support we pay for a years membership and can download as many as we like.

The DSlite arrived this morning. Just had to do a mercy dash to Argos to get a game for him. Lego Star Wars. You press Y to get the light sabre out apparently.

He practically launched himself at the postman this morning.

We will be sharing it for a few months to get the hang of things and Steven will get a brand new one for his birthday.

Aw, that's nice!

I'm guessing you'll maybe get a brand new game to be opened as soon as he gets to the waiting bit of the airport? :)

Perhaps a Disney themed game. :D
