Can those who know look at this small HD camcorder for me please

This is for Thomas not for us as we don't really do any videoing and if we wanted a bit we use our cameras.

Now he does quite a bit of YouTube stuff but his cheapo digital camera is very poor quality

So as a basic camcorder this on the face if it seems a bargain at the moment

Can't argue with 100 quid off. He got some money recently and wants to get this before our trip. I know it's not full HD but he's only ever going to watch it on a pc. And we are going to want something simple not a 500 quid mega job. This looks about the same size as a mobile. Which is astonishing considering it is better no doubt than the camera I took for our first trip to wdw that was about the same size as a family saloon. :lol:

It looks great :yes: You can't argue with that price and I like the fact is has removable storage. The Flip Video ones have built in and I don't think you can expand it either :sigh:

That looks fantastic for Thomas though- and £50!! :thud: How can they make stuff so small and low cost?! Our camera from 2005 seemed diddy at the time and now we look at it, it's about the size of a dinosaur!

That's what puts me off the Flip ones too.

My Dad bought one and whilst the video is amazing I just don't know why he bought it. :shrug:

i cant find any bad reviews of it just these

The good: Relatively rugged, attractive design; captures video at 720p HD resolution; decent video; memory-card expansion slot; runs off AA batteries; bundled HDMI cable; zippier performance.

The bad: No memory card; batteries don't recharge via USB connector; software isn't Mac compatible; poor connectivity.

The bottom line: While its video quality doesn't quite match up to that of the Flip Video MinoHD, the Kodak Zx1 does win points for its stylish, rugged design.

but what id say id for a 1st camcorder it will do a grand job for thomas, what more can you want for 50 quid :D

I've had my eye on these little cams for months. The first ones out were the flips followed by this kodak zx1. The reviews were always saying that the flips were ever so slightly better image wise but the zx1 was preferable because of the plug in cards. Obviously they then brought out the 1080p version of the kodak as well and since it was near enough the same price, it was the one I always thought would be the one to get.

I was all set to tell you this before you mentioned £100 off! Even as late as last month I looked and that zx1 was over £100! I dont mind 720p and I think the price is spot on so I've ordered one too!

Not mac compatible :unsure: - presumably thats just their soft ware and if you stuck it into the usb on a mac it would suck the movie into iphoto or imovie?
