oo forgot to ask, do you print your own on a home printer or take them somewhere?
Our Mairead (mumof2) makes incredibly detailed and beautiful cards. Slowhand's wife does too (she's not a member here though). I know others do too, but I'm mostly familiar with Mairead's and Slowhand's Wife's.
Hopefully, Mumof2 will be along soon to share some tips with you.
Just be careful as this hobby can becone very addictive ...and costly too.
My DW has been making cards for a while now and she uses the pc to print out the verses and inserts.
She uses a Cricut machine for any words or images on the cards themselves. This Cricut machine is very popular among her fellow card makers. It is basically a machine that cuts out letters and images and takes numerous cartridges covering almost anything that she needs to do.
This is where the expense comes in if you go down that route as the machine costs around $300 and each cartridge varies between $50-$90! [Not to mention the fuel costs involved in us trawling all of the craft stores whenever we are in Florida as this equipment is a darn site cheaper over there than here in the UK.]
aha, my brain does work after all! I *knew* we'd talked about this before - here's the link to what i posted about basic essentials.

Go on and give it a try, I'm only just starting to get back into it after losing enthusiasm last year.
If you do make sure you show your creations to us won't you! Let me know if you need any more help.
I have all the stuff in the understairs cupboard gathering dust. I spent a small fortune on card blanks, stamps, glue dots, ink etc. I even bought a Sizzix machine. I should get it out shouldn't I! Someone inspire me.
I can't remember the last time Donna bought a card. She has been making them for years now. She has the top of the line Cricut plus lots of other stuff, she does all her cutting, printing, etc. She also makes invitations and other stuff. Any of you that were on the Christmas Card list last year got one of her homemade cards.
