Which would you do, buy the tickets while you are over there purchase it in advance?

Depends upon when you want to go (and if there is a higher cost to you buying them in the UK).
Some dates sell out much faster than others, so if you have a particular date in mind, purchasing the tickets as early as possible will help guarantee that you are going to attend on that date.
If you don't mind which date you go, then wait until you are here. One less thing to worry about bringing and keeping track of, eh?
