I used to live in Limassol in early 70's and sadly watched the Turks invade the island and ruin it. My dad was in the RAF and after being evacuated we were able to go back as dad got a house on the base at Akrotiri. Sadly he passed away there and is buried at Dekalia, have been back a couple of times but the island has changed too much from our fond memories of the island and the people.
Anyone going will love the island.

Only negative is the 2.5 hour drive from Larnaca airport but at least it will be in daylight and we treat things like that as part of the adventure.
Driving was easy out there it really was, even I did it :lol: Larnaca airport was a bit hinky from what I remember, the bags came out just by the exit doors and I was thinking omg was that IT? :lol: but thats no bad thing.Quote:
