Where's the best place to shop in New York. Can't afford designer
Try Century 21
its right across Groun Zero, its a massive 4 or 5 floor store.... its all designer brands, and others too and at GREAT prices
You could always hit China Town....
Chanel, Louis......
I think you could convince Rebecca and I to show you the ropes
I have no idea about shopping but if its anywhere near where you are going then you must go to Buddys cake shop - omg the cakes look sooooooooooooo good there!!!
Well, it would be rude not to if it's so close to somewhere we are already visiting :D
I think I've heard of this store - is it, for want of a better word like a jumble sale inside where you have to look through everything?
Definately heard of China Town and it was on my original itinerary until I read some reviews and everyone said it was dirty and smelly. Have you been before Becca?
 way out of my prive range I'm afraid......doesn't hurt to look though.
Will keep that in mind Kate. Can't pass up a good cake can we :)
 if its in Chinatown it is in you're price range.
NYC is generally dirty and smelly.
I have been before and yes, it is quite dirty and smelly, but on the whole, so is all of NYC. If you stick to Canal Street you're likely to not encounter anything too terrible, or too frightening.
I will say that the last time I went, it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as it had been in the past...and even during the best of times, it can be a bit....intimidating.
Now, if you're looking for pastries...Little Italy has some AMAZING pastries. Chinatown does as well, but the one's in Little Italy are more to my liking. There are also some great little restaurants tucked away down there.
One of my ABSOLUTE favorite places to go
