It's beautiful. I just love all the decoration and theming. It's the only resort that I have stayed at that smells good. We love Boma and I don't typically like buffets. Jiko is also really good too. You can see the animals from all over the resort. It's just a really great place.
I agree, it's one of my favourite resorts which I wouldn't expect as I usually like bright and airy and AKL isn't. I haven't stayed there yet (rectifying that next year :D) but have visited lots of times, Boma is my favourite onsite restaurant for breakfast and dinner, the shop is fantastic, the pool looks great, the CM's are very informative and chatty, a lot of them are from Africa and will happily tell you about there homes and will always chat about the animals.
I think the main downside is it's location and the only transport to and from is Disney busses - although personally this doesn't affect us as we always have a car.
I am over excited to be able to stay there next year as I always thought it was a far off dream for us :D
ok thx johnie & lisa
so boma is a buffet, geez i cant remember what the 2 ressie were i decided on trying to get ADRS's for, will have to search for it
Although we can't afford to stay here often, every time we walk through that front door we feel like we are home. As Johnie says the Boma buffet is wonderful, be it for breakfast or dinner. And I can't say enough about JIKO. We love to sit at the Cooking Place and watch them prepare the appetizers.
The views of the animals around the lodge are superb.
i love it but personally wouldn't stay there if it wasn't for a savannah view room. Love the restaurants and the shop too. It's beautifully done
i plan to stay there for at least a few days on our trip in 2009
Are you going next year then now Julie?
I was getting all excited then too!!
