Re: Need Apple iMac opinions...
Hmmm now then I would be tempted.
Then I'd have to practise the following line : "Yes Mr Tax Man, I absolutely need this new shiny Apple technology for my business. No, not the Windows based one, as it doesn't fit my needs...(and it's pants!)". :happybounce:

well the current 27s are just brilliant... so I don't think you can go wrong.
The only slight thing is, the new thinner 27s are due soon too but HOW soon? will they be in time for your needs, probably not

The other, other thing (kind of like the Piranha Brothers) is that I can save a bunch of dinero on the current crop of iMacs. Especially some of the refurbs. Now, once they announce the new iMacs (Ivy Bridge and all) can I save even more on the old inventory?
Decisions, decisions...
Tom (:macwave:... more conflicted than normal...)
Re: Need Apple iMac opinions...
Even I wouldn't be tempted by a thinner 27 iMac at the moment, pretty darn thin enough for me, any thinner and it'll cut yer fingers

Ordered. :mental:
Tom (:macwave:... wanna know why Apple's so profitable? Me.)
Re: Need Apple iMac opinions...
Arrived! :mental:
But.... :sigh:
It's got issues. Turns out this particular refurbished iMac is a mid 2011 model. When I set it up and turned it on, the left side of the screen is much darker than the right. Looks like the backlighting on that side is gone. I checked the Apple Support discussions and as it turns out, this is not an uncommon problem for that particular vintage.
I love the size of the thing. Sitting on my desk it's like looking at a movie screen rather than a computer monitor. So, I'm going to see what Apple Care has to say about it. I may just return it and pop for a brand new one out of the store.
to be continued....
Tom (:macwave:... if it ain't one thing...)

Re: Need Apple iMac opinions...
Well, it's inconvenient that's for sure. However, I've been in touch with Apple Care and there's been no problem with them setting up the return. They provided a pre-paid shipping label and everything. I asked them if I could return it to the local Apple Store and they indicated that would be fine. So, it's all boxed back up and ready to go. Now, I just need a couple of hours to get to the Apple store.
Stay tuned... :tapnails:
Tom (:macwave:... I really liked the size of the thing!)
