At $400 for the day, is the price worth it for any of those that have indulged?

That's pricey, what does it include?
That's pretty expensive. We haven't tried them. But we've never felt the need.
We just try to get down to Serenity Bay as early as we can and snag a couple of beach chairs with an umbrella as close to the entrance to the beach as we can:

Umbrellas and chairs:
Disney has waiters trudging up and down the beach all the time who can bring you your favorite adult beverage. If you can get close to the beach entrance, there's also the Castaway Air Bar right there as well as the location for lunch that serves the adult beach area.
I suppose if you were looking for a truly extraordinary experience and had money to burn they'd be desirable but for the most part, we've been perfectly satisfied with what we've always done.
Hey, as long as it's Castaway Cay, that's good enough for me.
Tom (:macwave:... it's heaven...)
I`m with catrancher on this.
I really don`t see the point of hiring a cabana unless you are really unsociable [or a film star ]
I have always managed to find a good spot at Serenity Bay with an umbrella for shade and very attentive waiters to ply me with drinks so I would much rather keep the $400 in my wallet.
I'm a big fan of them at discovery cove but if there's enough shade and already someone to bring you drinks I would say save the $400 too, spend it on the cocktails! Guessing they're quite pricey!
Britchick - is there not much shade at discovery cove? We're going in October with Zac who will be 8months old. He isn't doing too well in the heat here so if there isn't much shade there we may need to think about hiring a cabana.
Sorry for gatecrashing your thread Lisa.
Thanks

What am I waiting for then? Lol
Hi Sue, I'm sure you will be fine, make sure you get there early though to secure the best spots. Unless you want to spend the extra and have a bit more privacy and a ceiling fan? Some people think its a waste of money because there's loads to do but I couldn't spend 8 hours in the water I don't think! Have you been before?
Thanks for replying. No haven't been before. We're going to be there with my mum and dad so could end up being a good base for us all.How much are the cabanas at DC? I suppose it will all depend how he gets on in the heat over there - he'll be a bit older so hoping he'll cope better.
