Haunted Trail Rides at Fort Wilderness Cancelled for Fall 2012

I called Disney this morning to ask about the Haunted Trail rides at Fort Wilderness this year and I was told that there won't be any as they have been cancelled :(

I asked if this was permanent and she said she didn't know, but that it was due to work being carried out in preparation for a new DVC resort at Fort Wilderness. I wonder if this is also the reason that the Hoop Dee Doo has been cancelled for the Holiday Season this year :unsure:

They are going to incorporate some of the old River Country into the new resort. All the barns and animals are going to be moved as well. I'm beginning to wonder if Pioneer Hall is going to be moved or be torn down completely and rebuilt someplace else in Fort Wilderness.

That would make sense yep. wow :/

I better book a couple of luaus for our december trip then because the hoop audiences will want to go somewhere and the luau is probably going to be packed out

This would be a wise move on your part. Have you seen the Luau? While not as good as The Hoop Dee Doo it is very entertaining and the food is just as good.

I posted here that there was a rumour that Hoop Dee Doo might be closing for refurbishment, but I'm wondering if it might be something else now :sigh:

I'm looking for some more information about the DVC.

This is the first I have heard about Hoop Dee Doo being shuttered. When did that announcement come out?

I dont believe it's been formally announced John, but a lot of people have spoken to Disney and been told it's expected to close "for refurb" oct->dec 31st.

Apparently the booking system is still allowing bookings for that period though sooooo it's a bit interesting
