Our Visit to Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – Lots of Photos
We were lucky enough to be at the Magic Kingdom on the day of the 1st Dress Rehearsal for the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, in the Enchanted Forest at the new Fantasyland.
It opened at 10am and we arrived at about 10.10am so we were one of the first people to wander in.
I knew that the ride would get busy, so I suggested to Chris that we head to the ride first as this would get very busy as the day went on.
We had about a 20 min wait and for once I wished that it was longer as the walk to the ride is amazing, there is just so much to see and the scenery is so beautiful. Luckily everyone was strolling, which meant that Chris was able to keep stopping to take photos, without holding too many people up. No-one seemed to mind though as all you could hear around you was "amazing, beautiful, omg" these were just some of them and the children were so excited. As you enter the caves there are interactive windows with a crab and children can interact with it. Disney seems to have thought of everything.
When you reach the end of the line you walk along a moving walkway, the same as you have on Peter Pan and get into giant clams.
As the ride starts the clams rotate so that you are going backwards and you can see bubbles around you as you go undersea.
I won't go into it in too much detail as I don't want to spoil it for people that are going soon, but I have attached some photographs, so stop reading now if you don't want to see them.
When you exit you walk through some more caves until you get outside where a shipwrecked boat with Ariel as the figure head awaits. There is a Photopass photographer here.

It was open for us as well. We rode the ride the evening of the 17th and it was awesome! It was a 10 minute wait and when I say wait I think it was just the walk time for the queue....it's HUGE! Not many people realized it was open. Great pictures Wendy! The area looks even better at night!

I can't wait to see it at night, I'll have to wait until next year though :fingers: we'll be able to go :D
I agree, I think the walk alone must take about 10 mins, it really is good
